Worth every penny. If a brand name was on this axe, it would go for $700 to $800. Guitar arrived very well packed. Finish is flawless and the setup was decent. Action was right where I like it. I tuned it then played it for an hour. It stayed in tune (with minor tweaks because of new strings) and the intonation was fine. Pickups are decent and it's a great guitar to 'rock out' on. I use a Line 6 HELIX floor and these pickups did not feedback at volume. By comparison, my Ibanez RG470DX does feedback some. 5 Stars !

If you want an explorer style under 400 then this is an excellent option. Nothing was wrong with this instrument out of the box. Tuned down for shipping, set the strings to standard and hooked it up to a Fender super champ 2 (with warehouse veteran 20 watt) to try out some different voicings etc. The neck is natural/dry I’d say. Pretty standard neck pick up at this level. The bridge pickup is “heavy metal” a bit hot which makes the middle position quite useful. Bridge is excellent for chording and soloing. I was planning to have some SD invaders installed but there’s no rush on that from my ears. It’s a gain master but also decent clean. I got this to riff with gain and it will do that in spades. I also like that the sound and feel is quite different from my other metal makers, a Dunable Asteroid DE and Schecter Riggs FRS Ultra. In terms of value, I also have an IYV 300 (green LP) and an older Epi special I in tv yellow. All 3 are great values, the wood of the IYV is quite good but I replaced pickups and all hardware on that plus a pro setup. Now it rocks. This is a better “rocker” out of the box and it is set up quite nicely. The epi is basswood, looks great, amazing rosewood fretboard, and very underrated stock pickups (700T/650R). All 3 are great $200 guitars and obviously my faves but for the Revenge - it’s quite nice, rocks well, decent hardware, unique neck feel. Pretty chunky - more gibby style than Ibanez. Packed well. No blemishes. Update: With G.C. offering a free install promo I did put in some white SD Invaders. Stock p.u.s definitely based on these. Look at the huge magnets. I’d say they capture about 80% of the invaders but invader neck more paf like and bridge more articulate. I also added an Eyemaster pedal. Wow what a great combo. Invaders add perhaps some clarity but require an amp treble boost to “breathe”. Stocks actually more balanced in middle position. I like them so much I’m thinking of getting a warlock body to put them in. To conclude: with the invaders some custom knobs and an eyemaster pedal going into a superchamp with gain at 10 voiced with mesa boogie (my fave by far with the eye master) or Vox 30 or Marshall this thing can sound pro ready. I Ike the tuners and bridge enough to leave alone.

Out of the box, all I had to do was change strings, tune up and the guitar played great, it really did. The strings it comes with were terrible and dirty. Once I took them off, I wiped down the fretboard, cleaned the neck a little bit etc. Put the new set of strings on and was good to go. I was expecting to have to do a little home-guitar-set up or if it was really rough, a pro set up. But I did not have some of the experiences others buying this guitar have had. YMMV. Maybe I got lucky, maybe the company is doing a better job recently. I did not have to adjust the bridge/action. I did not have to adjust pickups. There were no intonation problems. Volume and tone pots were clean and worked well. Frets are great. No issues with the nut. I even went up a gauge in strings (9-46) and the channels in the nut were still just fine. I really put this guitar through its paces the first weekend I had it with a long jam session. In my rig, at volume and compared to my other primary guitars; this guitar is going to need a new pickup (s) So that's what I did. I already ordered a new bridge pickup for 100 bucks. Even after installation, I am only going to be into this guitar for about $300 bucks. CAN"T BEAT IT IMO. I could have bought a p/u set for 200 but since that would double the cost of the guitar and I hardly ever use the neck p/u anyways, I went bridge only. I had my eye on this guitar because it looks sick! and the Price was an eye opener and an eye-brow raiser at the same time. I read all of the reviews here; did some further research and kept watching it. Finally pulled the trigger on Amazon Prime day when there was a coupon available. That made the price under 200. I would say this is a great beginner guitar; or a great secondary guitar if you are an intermediate player. Especially vs paying several hundred dollars to over 1000 dollars for even an Epiphone Explorer. And you can't find Ibanez Destroyers hardly at all.

I wanted to get this guitar, since it is really close the old ibanez destroyers iron maiden used to play. Out of the box this thing was setup amazingly well. (YMMV, it can be hit or miss with ANY guitar ordered online) The only things I did was slightly widen and deepen the low E and G nut slots, install new strings (a must with any inexpensive guitar), and slightly lowered the high string action, but raised the low string action. The finish is nearly perfect, with just two little flaws right on the binding (you would notice unless really looking for it). All of the hardware is solid. The tuners are grover copies, but are smooth and hold tune. Electronics are great. Full size 500k pots that are smooth with a good taper. The pickups on mine measured 9.3K on the neck and 13.5K on the bridge, they are fully wax potted, and sound great. There's no need to change them out unless you are going for something very specific, or want to do coil-spitting series-parallel-phase wiring (these are only 2-conductor). The switch and output jack feel very solid. The neck is the real star, I'd say its a medium c (not slim nor chunky), with a really flat (14" ish) fingerboard radius. The rounded ball end frets are polished and smooth, makes playing effortless. Quality wise, I put this on par with your epiphones, scheter, ltd's, etc., in the $500 - $700 range. One thing I will mention is this is the second one I got. While the first one (purple 2022 model) was constructed well & had a flawless finish, It was setup ridiculously poor. I sent it back and ordered the Red one on Prime day (2023 model). Its a keeper!! EDIT - upon closer inspection, these are indeed 4 wire pickups, which enables you to do split coil, series/parallel & phase wiring options.

Great guitar for the price I’m actually impressed I really recommend this for beginners or if you can’t afford an expensive guitar this one is perfect. It has good sound good pickups a nice body it feels good while sitting and I love the camo pattern its easy to use it is very playable while sitting shipping was good. Strings are ok could be better. I definitely recommend this awesome guitar and you should definitely check it out if your looking for a cool looking budget friendly guitar. I played this guitar for hours it still is in tune. The frets are not sharp. I really love this guitar you should definitely check it out

I really want to like this guitar.... But I will probably return it for the following reasons. ***I may be OCD about my equipment but as soon as I took it out of the box I noticed the obvious ding or chip whatever you want to call it, on the top front edge. Box showed no shipping damage so it's obvious it was done in the factory at some point that's aggravating because they shipped it anyway.... ***There are numerous places in the finish where they didn't buff it out good so it has dull spots and swirl marks.... Guitar could have been beautiful. ***The third fret is high on the high e and b string limiting the action adjustment. The fret seems to be loose (if I push on it hard or tap it lightly with a rubber handled screwdriver the string stops buzzing, but after playing for a few minutes the issue arises again). If I do decide to keep the guitar I will have to pay a luthier to fix that- ***. With Ernie Ball 9 thru 46 gauge strings, the d string will not intonate, saddle adjusted all the way forward and it's still flat on the 10th fret up. (Deal breaker) ***According to West creeks manual for pickup height adjustment, the bridge pickup hi this is maxed out but it's still too low. (Hi e string is 2mm Above the last fret) So that problem is not because my action is really high- Other than the above mentioned issues it's a good guitar. Fresh were rounded nicely on the edges and I love the neck profile. Guitar sounds really good with the stock pickups. But especially that ding in the finish and the swirl and dull marks all over the body is ridiculous, for a company that's supposed to be replicable...? Maybe I'm just OCD maybe I got lemon.... Who knows, but it is what it is. Without the issues I would love the guitar. Thanks for reading I hope this helps in making your decision whether or whether or not to buy-I just want you to be aware.

This is without a doubt the best "bang for your buck" guitar I've ever had. Ive had Epiphones and Gibsons and the build quality is just as good. The frets are flawless and buttery smooth. Setup was good out of the box. Alnico pickups are moderately hot with 13K/9K resistance sound great, perfect for 80's metal. The controls all feel solid. Nothing about this guitar feels cheap or poorly done. The finish is beautiful and flawless. The only thing that didn't meet my expectations was the color of the finish. It's not as bright purple as the picture suggests. The color is more of a subdued wine red with hints of purple. It still looks really nice, just different than I was expecting. I just found a new favorite guitar!
