My dogs get frustrated because they can’t get to the bottom of a stuffed kong, so they love that they can reach into this. My “big” dogs are 45 and 55lbs and the large is a perfect size for them. The large fits about 3/4c of my dogs kibble and works comparable to a slow feeder for her. She can still scarf it down but slower than in a bowl. I wouldn’t recommend it solely for a kibble feeder but it’s a nice side use. The other dog is on a diet and always looking for food so this lets him feel like he’s eating more than he really is since it takes him 40 mins to eat some green beans or kibble mashed and frozen in. When I mix it w peanut butter or let the kibble soak and expand but don’t freeze it, it takes longer but it it’s not extremely difficult. Maybe 10-20 mins? They both still love it though. When I pack it and freeze it (either w peanut butter, a mix of kibble and liquids left to soak first, or like today just kibble and green beans in water) it takes quite a while. My old man hound took 45 minutes to lick through a frozen cup the other day. My GSD pup is quicker but it still takes her a good 30 mins of entertainment. I’m looking forward to giving these frozen cups as a cool off treat after walks in the summer when it’s over 100°. They’re like pupcicles, but cheaper in the long run! I also like that I can use it for mental stimulation while we hunker down over the 110+ days without a lot of outside exercise. Even at night it’s too hot to run more than 10-15 mins so this will be a great help to keeping them engaged. The pup has so much energy. So much. Neither have tried to chew it yet and it’s held up well so far (only a few weeks). I do wish the company made a plug, but I was able to find a cork that fit snuggly so I can freeze it without leaking. I ordered two more. A small for my other dog - a shiba - (It’s a little disappointing small, but a large is too big. I would love a medium size!) and another large so both the big dogs can have one at the same time. The kong is getting mostly retired. Even if you have 1 dog, I think I would recommend getting two of these so you can rotate them in and out of the freezer without having to wait for them to freeze. ... show more

My dog is about 20 minutes into working on her Toppl and still not done yet! We currently have a handyman at our house and she is so focused on it that she has completely ignored him (she usually goes crazy when we have guests over because she wants to meet everyone). I was initially hesitant buying this due to the price, but decided to take the plunge due to the sale that Amazon had on the large tangerine Toppl and I am so glad that I did! It's so much easier to fill and clean than the Kong, and my dog is able to get everything out (unlike the Kong). It seems sturdy, and I haven't had any problems with my dog chewing on it (she doesn't really destroy her toys). This wobble is spectacular. My dog gets fed part of his breakfast & dinner using two of these (in different sizes) connected together. I recently bought the extra large in green, but I also have the large in blue and the small in a magenta (it was a limited edition color that is no longer available). I wish they weren't so expensive for each piece, but I can honestly say that I have no regrets and am happy to have all 3!! They are well-made, and if your dog breaks off any pieces, you're encouraged to mail them in to the manufacturer to be recycled. I do recommend that you buy at least two of the sizes if you're trying to keep your dog occupied for more than a few moments, but I promise they're worth every penny. ... show more

My 35 lb Mini Aussie powers through puzzle toys, on average a difficult toy only takes her 5 minutes. With the Toppl, I mix some wet food with dry food and freeze it. I'm not kidding when I say it takes her an hour to eat her dinner, she will sit there and lick and bite for a FULL HOUR. Filled these with kibble and canned food, then froze them. The dogs love them, and it keeps them entertained for a while. Be careful if you have an aggressive chewer though. One of our three dogs falls into this category. We have to take it away from her as soon as she finishes the food, or she starts to chew up the toy. Our other two don't do this. ... show more

I started with the smaller version and my 2 Labs just love them. Perfect to put treats or Peanut Butter in; even freeze them. It keeps them busy when we leave the house and deters their separation anxiety. Just added the large to use them together for extra stimuli, larger treat etc

So much win! This was recommended to me by my dogs’ school as a stimulating activity on days when the dogs may not get as much physical exercise as regular to tire them out mentally. My dogs love it! It has was withstood my 7 month old GSD puppy- and we all know they are machines of destruction. When he’s not eating from it, he carries it around like a toy. My 4 year old Catahoula mix takes her time and eats from it like a lady, making meal time last substantially longer. I’ve been feeding them their kibble with wet food, all smooshed in so they really have to work for it. Then they’ll play with it for the longest time after trying to get to every crevice. I purchased the large size not seeing they had XL. I’m looking forward to eventually getting the XLs so I can put them together and make the puzzle feeder! I’ll update when I get that far. Don’t hesitate if you’re considering this purchase. The dogs love it, it’s good for them mentally, its wicked durable and you can throw it in the dishwasher! What’s not to love? ... show more
