I am really pleased with the quality of this. I ordered it thinking it would be temporary until we could get something nicer. First it comes in a zippered case that opens like a book. The scissors have a nice weight to them and cut nicely. Someone more knowledgeable would probably know what the other pieces were but we mostly used the scissors and comb.     • Great Upgrade to my Home Hairstyling Kit

I am not a professional stylist, just someone who tries to give my partner a nice haircut. I have been using moderately priced ‘professional hairstyling scissors’ up to now, and this set is a HUGE upgrade in both quality, and variety of tools. Although we are not due for a haircut for a few weeks, I can give some preliminary impressions after a few snips. I will update this review, if needed, after using them for a full haircut. LIKES: I have big hands, and even though the finger holes are much smaller than my previous shears, they actually feel MUCH better. The ergonomics are great, and I feel that I have much better control of the shears. They are impressively sharp, and cut the hair with real precision. The heft, polish, and finish of all the tools is really satisfying. I love the extra tools that are provided. I’ve been wanting to try 'Thinning Shears' to control some waves that plague me, so I am excited that this kit includes them. It also includes a ‘Hair Thinning Knife,’ which also feels very good in the hand. I truly have no idea how to use it yet, but Google is my friend ;-) Even the included ‘Hair Clip’ is very nicely made, with a double row of teeth to hold the hair in place perfectly. I look forward to trying this with the wedge-cut I do, for even better precision. It includes two apparently identical basic shears. I think I will hold one in reserve, so I have a fallback in pristine condition if I have to sharpen the first one. The storage case holds the entire kit nicely, if you don’t include the extra shears, which I’ll store separately. ISSUES: No problems of any significance, but one thing to note. The blades are tightened with a fastener I haven’t seen before. I don’t know if it is proprietary, or common in the beauty trade. Whatever the case, the kit comes with an appropriate tightening tool, which is very appreciated. I just wish there was a secure place in the case to store it so it doesn’t get lost. CONCLUSION: I REALLY like this kit. It is beautifully made, well described in the listing, and very satisfying to use. There are tools included that are beyond my current skill level, but I look forward to learning about them and trying them out. GREAT SET...Easy 5-stars from me! ... show more
