Description

Adjust the speed anywhere from 550 to 1600 strokes per minute with the simple turn of a knob. The cast iron base prevents vibration and walking during operation while the spacious 16.25-by-10-inch table bevels up to 45 degrees for angled cuts. The saw also includes a hold-down foot clamp for securing your project in place along with a flexible work light that bends and adjusts to whatever position your heart desires. The adjustable air pump clears sawdust from your work area to give you a clear line of vision. This combined with the 1-1/2-inch dust port keeps your work area clean so you can focus on your woodworking. I bought this to use for small jobs in my shop. I am not a full time worker anymore just an old man that loves to do things that make people happy. After Hurricane Ian decimated my tools in the garage, over five feet of water does do damage, I nearly said I've had enough. But I couldn't resist the temptation to get back to the many projects I had planned to do. I bought this for a specific job, didn't need a premium tool just something that I would use now and then. It serves its purpose has everything needed for a scroll saw. It is also priced right for my needs. I've used a couple of times and it is fine for my projects. I screwed it down to my bench because it does have a certain amount of vibration. Cuts fine and blade changing is easy.     • Surprised and pleased by how good this saw is at this price point. It's a joy to work with.
I ordered this saw expecting a marginal performance due to the low cost. But this is an excellent scroll saw. I watched some online comments that were critical of the vibration. The vibration is not bad at all. Some reviews were critical of the blade chuck holding plain-end, pinless blades securely. I think that must have been an older model, because the chuck works perfectly - 100% secure. I read that some reviewers were critical of how difficult it is to change blades. I have no clue why anyone would find it difficult to change blades on this model saw. I wish my other woodworking saws were as easy to change blades. I do use premium blades in this saw and I think that's key to having a great experience. And I match the blade to the material I'm sawing. My woodworking shop has many saws, most are premium brands. I was a bit worried about the Wen brand being a "value saw" but hey, this is a good saw. It is a joy to use. It has not frustrated me once, and I've hammered it pretty hard. Nice unit for the price. Have not used it much to date. Two suggestions: 1. Dust collection: in its current state, by the time someone uses an adapter for their shopvac hose, one has to work the cut with the hose etc in the way. Aside from a redesign by the manufacturer, suggest adding a 1 1/2" 90 degree PVC elbow (as per pic). NOTE: the elbow opening did not initially fit on the dust port. I used a Dremel with a grinding bit to remove some of the material from the inside wall. 2. Having some type of built-in storage for blades, allen wrenches etc. Nothing major, but perhaps similar to what you see on the second pic (from my previous scroll saw). ... show more

I was concerned about this saw because the wood I’m cutting is 1” to 2” walnut and oak. The saw isn’t fast but it’s accurate and leaves a great smooth finish - far better than my bandsaw. This saves a lot of sanding time.

It's a cheap saw, sure... But that certainly is no excuse for selling manufacturing defects..... Typical Amazon anymore isn't it? One of the supports for the table is the slotted arc that has the degree increments on it. It had a nasty kink in it as shown in the pictures. I did my best to straighten it out with duct tape wrapped channel locks, but you can only do so much. Once a piece like that is kinked, it is forever a weak point.. Also it will be forever unreliable with regard to the measurement of angle to blade. The honest rating for this scroll saw, where it in good shape, would be three or maybe four at best stars down the road. It's made of flimsy metal for the casing, and it doesn't have a lot of the nice bells and whistles that my Dremel scroll has, as far as compartments and it's overall sense of sturdiness and thickness of material. It's an extremely light tool as a result, so it does have a lot of vibration for a scroll saw, but proper mounting as I did helps with such things, so I can make this girl saw less vibrating than someone who just sets theirs on top of a bench, but it still is what it is. Given the fact that I had to take the wood guard and bend the tines and the mounting tab so that it actually functions properly is a testament to Wen's lack of quality control, and that's something that everyone would need to fix. The manual said that they align the table to the blade from the factory, which I can tell you it was about two or three degrees off, and that's likely due to that bent piece... MISSED AT THE FACTORY. Were that the only thing in the peace not bent, then I suppose I would give this thing three stars. The location of the dust collection port is terrible engineering design. When I hook my shop vac to it, I have to lean over the hose where it's connected to the port in order to access the table, because the shop that goes sticking in my belly button.... Cheap terrible design worth two and a half three stars at most. BUT THIS LACK OF QUALITY CONTROL IS JUST INEXCUSABLE. ALTOGETHER I'D SAY IF I COULD GIVE A FRACTION OF A STAR I WOULD. ... show more
