Description

Remember when you had clean and quiet portable power? The WEN 4500-Watt Dual Fuel Inverter Generator produces clean energy free of voltage spikes and drops without all of the noise of a regular generator. Generate up to 4500 surge watts and 3500 rated watts of power on gasoline, or connect a propane tank for up to 4500 surge watts and 3150 running watts of power on LPG. Our 212cc 4-stroke air-cooled OHV engine operates at an extremely quiet 58 decibels at quarter load, about as quiet as a window air conditioner or the average conversation. This limits its invasiveness while hunting, camping, tailgating and restoring back-up power. Our unique Auto Fuel Selection Technology automatically switches between propane and gasoline for longer run times with limited hassle. The WEN 4500W Inverter Generator is also equipped with fuel shutoff. This feature turns off the flow of fuel, allowing the generator to use up the remaining fuel from the carburetor before automatically shutting down. This helps fight the build-up and blockages caused by stagnant fuel inside of the carburetor, minimizing maintenance while prolonging the unit’s lifespan. Designed to mirror a pure sine wave, this generator limits total harmonic distortion to under 0.3 percent at no load and under 1.2 percent at full load, making it safe for laptops, cellphones, monitors, tablets and other vulnerable electronics. The lightweight design along with the built-in wheels and folding handle make for easy portability while the ultra-efficient 2.2-gallon tank provides up to 8.5 hours of half-load run time (or 9 hours half-load run time on a 20-pound LPG tank). Our fully-packed panel comes equipped with two 3-prong 120V standard household receptacles, one RV-ready AC 120V 30A NEMA TT-30R receptacle, one 12V DC receptacle, two 5V USB ports and an easy-to-read digital fuel and load display. Maximize fuel economy by engaging the Eco-Mode switch. This feature allows the generator's engine to automatically adjust its fuel consumption as items are plugged into and unplugged from the panel, preventing the usage of unnecessary gasoline. The oil access cover makes for easy oil changes. Need more energy? Easily link up two WEN inverter generators using a WEN Parallel Connection Kit (sold separately) in order to share wattage between multiple units. Low-oil and low-fuel automatic shutdown, indication lights, and overload protection safeguard both your generator and your electronics from damage. The included spark arrestor allows for legal use in national parks and campgrounds. And because this is a WEN Product, your inverter generator comes backed by a 3-year limited warranty, a nationwide network of skilled service technicians and a friendly customer helpline. Remember when your generator powered your electronics safely and quietly? Remember WEN.

  • Wen 4500w inverter generator
Size: 4500W Dual Fuel + Recoil Start
I bought this generator to run my camper. It has exceeded most of my expectations. It's very quiet, about as loud as an outside air conditioner. If you are just using lights, tv, phone chargers ect. It will run about 15 hours (25% load). If you are using air conditioning, microwave ect. It will still run about 10 hours. It has more than enough power output for a 30amp camper. Make sure you follow directions about oil and use a good quality break in oil. I also recommend getting the magnetic oil cap to collect any metal shavings. Change the oil often. I change mine every 48 hours of continuous use. You will get longer life and better performance. It's easy to start (2nd or third pull) even for a mature lady. Very pleased with this purchase so far. Definitely recommend! ... show more

  • It works GREAT
Size: 4500W Dual Fuel + Recoil Start
I love this generator and the way I set it up. The generator is quiet, easy to start. is easy on gas (Just in case you think the 3 gallon to small), the panel gives all the info I need and it powers everything in my home I want to power when the electric is interrupted. The drain the carburetor feature on turn off works and gives piece of mind that it does not gum up from old gas, so it starts next time. BEST is it is portable so I can use it where ever I need power and still power all the house in emergency (minus the AC), unlike the fully automatic systems that a permanently installed. I installed a transfer switch which is a simple way to switch from the electric company yet not the big bucks to do the switch automatically. Can you tell I like it vary much ... show more

  • Great Investment!!
Size: 4500W Dual Fuel + Recoil Start
This generator is perfect for my 5 amp RV! It will run my ac unit for over 8 hours @ 50% load! It is Amat! The generator is very quiet! Sometimes I don’t think it’s running when I’m more than 20 feet away from it! I am very satisfied with this investment!! 😊

  • Great generator.
Size: 4500W Dual Fuel + Recoil Start
I bought the DF4500i for camping, emergency back up and other miscellaneous tasks outdoors where electricity isn't available. It has met or exceeded my expectations on noise. It is/was far quieter than I was expecting. At 100 pounds, it's heavy but more than manageable. The handle and wheels are nice, well thought out. I read the instruction manual, added gas and oil and it started on the second pull. I also ordered the magnetic dipstick, good investment. I ran it with real light and varying loads for an hour and changed the oil. I added more load on and off for 5 hours and changed the oil again. I repeated that again for 5 more hours and this time the magnetic dipstick was clean. I changed the oil again, added fresh fuel with stabilizer and the generator is ready for it's next mission. My only suggestion is to look at WEN website before ordering on Amazon, cut out the middle man. I would've saved almost $100 with tax and sale price had I done so. I tried to cancel my order from Amazon to purchase the generator directly from WEN. Amazon wouldn't cancel my order as it was already in "pre-shipment" status. Edit: After 275 hours in the generator, I cannot complain. It has worked flawlessly on both gasoline and propane. It has banged away 24 hours a day for 4 weekends straight without a single hiccup. I would recommend. ... show more

  • I like it
Size: 4500W Dual Fuel + Recoil Start
I've got about 25 hours or so on it so far. Multiple oil changes to break it in, as suggested by other reviews. I also purchased the magnetic oil filler cap (should be included, in my opinion). I have used propane and gasoline. It is relatively quite but not something you would want to use in a campground. I use it with my shed/cabin on my 7 acre property. One thing I don't like it the is the hour meter will not save the running hours unless the generator has been running for at least 2 hours. What's up with that? That means it's never accurate. It's is heavy but it has two handles on top so it isn't that hard to lift up and place in my pickup bead by myself. I wish it had a larger gas tank. It claims about nine hours (on gasoline) on a half load but I don't think it lasts that long. It's even less on propane (20lb tank). For my use case, I wish it would run about 12 hrs on a tank. Propane costs more than gasoline so I would prefer to run it all night on gas. It is very nice to have the dual fuel option, though. Propane will store for years without degradation. Overall, I have been pleased with it in the short time I've used it. ... show more

  • So Quiet!!!
Size: 4500W Dual Fuel + Recoil Start
Although we haven’t put it through all its tests yet, this generator was simple to start, super quiet and worked great while running for the first few hours we ran. Will update this review once we’ve used extensively. UPDATE: we ran the generator for about 3.5 hours today hooked up to our TT. It was HOT today and the TT was around 98 inside. In the 3.5 hours we ran it, the temp inside dropped to 78. The tank was almost empty but we only put three quarters of a tank in it. So far this generator was so worth the money! ... show more

  • Critical for recharging solar generators used in "Fractional Power Walls"
Size: 4500W Dual Fuel + Recoil Start
I recommend this WEN DF450i Super Quiet 4500-Watt generator because it's good at recharging my two Bluetti Elite 200 V2 solar generators, which otherwise run my refrigerator and freezer full time. Those V2s are each powered by their own, two-455W-solar panel solar arrays. Those V2s are, in turn, plugged into a wall outlet so if too many grey days elapse and the V2s aren't sufficiently solar-recharged, their"pass-through" circuits will draw power from my home's grid and pass it through to my refrigerator and freezer to keep them going. But what if the grid goes out, too many dark, grey days elapse and the V2s lose their (2kWh each) of battery power? THAT's when I'll use this WEN generator, which is hopefully never. What's nice about it? Its "inverter tech" allows me to plug my V2s into it and recharge each V2 at about 790W (I've done two test runs, see the video accompanying this review). The WEN takes about 85 minutes to recharge each V2. Then each V2 can run a refrigerator or freezer for at least another 12 hours. See the benefit? When the grid goes down, I no longer have to power up my Briggs & Stratton, 6500W "Storm Responder" generator and run it continuously to keep those refrigeration-based loads going. Instead, I just use this WEN generator to independently recharge those V2s for maybe 85 minutes of WEN running time. That fetches me 12 more hours more of each V2 powering their loads (sidenote: I have not yet tried to also run solar power into those V2s while the WEN is recharging them, but I don’t see why I can’t dual-charge them like that). And yes, my food will be just fine during those 85 minute recharging intervals. So why only 3 stars? To get your attention about something that just wasted a lot of my time: Restarting the WEN after it’s been stored for a few months. Background: I keep my WEN carefully stored in my garage, and I even invested in the WEN-brand protective cover for it. After testing it out after it arrived this past January, I ran the gas out of it to store it “clean” and not worry about gas getting stale and gunking up its carburetor. That's what I've always done, with no problem, with my 2018-purchased, Briggs & Stratton 6500 "Storm Responder" (non-inverter tech) generator. But while it makes sense to do that for my Briggs generator, it does NOT for this WEN generator. As COPILOT explained, one must keep roughly at least 3-4ounces of gas (I’ve gone for a full 8 ounces with some gasoline preservative added) in the WEN’s tank and let it run on that gas WHEN shutting it off. In other words, don't run it until it burns up any remaining gas and store it "dry." I’ll spare you the lengthy explanation but the short of it is that the gasoline keeps a fuel-intake part from “drying out” and freezing up. A mechanic friend and I just wasted a LOT of time figuring this out (COPILOT A.I. has been very helpful explaining this to us). I’m thus taking the time to save others time if in fact this is the norm for this machine. By the way: The "V2 process" described above is called a “Fractional Power Wall” (FPW) and is designed to take your home, one fraction at a time, off the grid while remaining grid-tied. It requires no permits, electricians or power-company consent and even an “elderly” person (I’m 70) can do it. I now have five FPWs powering 75% of my home (120V loads only) AND they keep its critical systems impervious to grid outages. That, in turn, substantially reduces my power bill. Each FPW's resulting power bill savings funds the next FPW layer, until one reaches the equivalent of a FULL Power Wall (so, about $1500 per layer, rather than $15k-$18k up front for Tesla's deal, and each FPW runs independently of the other, so if a part fails in one, owners aren't "stuck" like they are until a Tesla tech shows up). You can read about FPWs in my book here on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GZ93SQ4N?ref=yb_qv_ov_kndl_dp_rw If done right (it's easy! I had no formal electrical training), the FPW system (all DIY, no contracts to sign or permits to pull, just order what you need online and devote half of a Saturday per FPW) should obviate the need to ever have to use a gas generator again. But if you ever need one, this product fits the bill (just remember to go into your solar generator's app and tell it to deprioritize solar when recharging it with the WEN). ... show more
