Description

Remember when your saw stayed on the right track? Keep your cuts on the straight and narrow with the WEN 10-Amp Sidewinder Plunge Cut Track Saw. The WEN Track Saw provides users the same results as a table or panel saw in a compact and portable package. Simply lay the track (not included – model CT9502) along the desired surface for a clean and smooth cut. The WEN Track Saw is the perfect companion for ripping plywood, trimming doors, building furniture, and any other application needing long, precise cuts. Our powerful 10-amp motor rotates the 6-1/2 inch blade up to 5500 times per minute, letting you power through even the hardest of woods. Bevel the saw 45 degrees to the left to create angled cuts in boards up to 1-5/8 inches thick. Set the depth gauge anywhere from 0 to 2-1/3 inches to control how deep the saw plunges. The 12 x 6-5/8 inch base features precision grooves that let the saw glide smoothly along the track. However, the saw can also exist on its own as a plunge saw, relying on its flat base for maximum stability and precision. Easily switch between three different blade settings: one for scoring cuts that go 1/8-inch deep, one for full plunge cuts, and one to simplify blade changes. The non-slip base cams reduce pinching and minimizes kickback. The back-mounted dust port allows for attachment to your favorite dust collection system to control sawdust and limit cleanup. Simply attach your dust collection device of choice and start sawing. Compatible with the WEN CT9502 100-Inch Track and the WEN CT992F Track Saw Clamps. And, because it’s a WEN product, your WEN 10-Amp Plunge Cut Circular Track Saw comes backed by a two- year warranty, a nationwide network of skilled service technicians, and a friendly customer helpline, all to make sure you remember WEN.

  • Works great, inexpensive
Style: Track Saw
I needed a track saw, but only for occasional use, so I didn't want to spend $600, and this one, with track, was only $200. It got good reviews, so I bought one. The saw itself is made mostly of plastic and it has lots of plastic knobs and stuff on it, but it works great, and so far it has stood up to all the abuse I can throw at it. If I were going to use a track saw all the time, I would probably buy a more sturdy (and expensive) one, but for occasional use you can't beat the WEN. It's got a lot of great features, like a kickback preventer, so it plunge cuts well, and it has several blade settings, including a scoring setting and a blade-change setting. It's easy to set up for repeatable depth of cut. Very safe and easy to use. The track itself is just fine, too. It is extruded aluminum and screws together (with an odd-size Allen key, so don't lose the one it came with) and it's plenty long to do a whole sheet of plywood, which is why I bought it in the first place. The track stays together and stays where you put it. They sent me two clamps to secure the track to the work surface, but the cuts I've made so far have been straight with or without the clamps. So you can't beat this saw for price, features, and usability, if you want something for occasional use. It's accurate and it has all the features I need and more. It's not as durable-looking as the $600 one, but then it didn't cost that much, either, and may prove very durable in the end. This was an excellent purchase for me. ... show more

  • My new favorite tool
Style: Cordless + Batteries + Charger
I spent a good amount of time recently researching track saws. I was tempted to buy the Kreg but it was still more expensive than I wanted to spend and I would have to buy extra track just to get to the 8' to cut plywood. I was thinking the Wen was going to be janky and nothing special. After watching YouTube reviews that were actually surprisingly good on this saw I decided to give it a shot. I got the cordless saw with the 2 batteries, 110" track and the track clamps. All in ~$270, which was a great price especially getting the long track and 2 5.0 AH batteries. So today I used it for the first time to cut a straight edge on some 4ft long 1" thick walnut boards. It sliced through it like butter. Perfectly straight. I even attached both tracks together and cut edges across the seam of the 2 tracks. You can't even tell on the wood. Just a flawless cut. I was using the included blade also. There are 2 things about this saw to mention that really are janky. 1. The dust port gets clogged super easy. I didn't have a hose attached, but I think even with a hose on it would still get backed up because the opening has cross braces across it and the amount and size of sawdust it creates will overwhelm it. 2. The depth stop has a ton of play. It's not the easiest to move around and when you losen it, it's all over the place. That being said, it's still forgiving enough that I cut these 1" boards without even scoring the board I had underneath. It was pretty easy to dial it in. If you are on the fence, just buy this thing. It's so cool. I'm super happy with it and I wouldn't see any point in buying anything else unless I was looking to upgrade to the best of the best like a festool or makita. ... show more

  • Great choice for a hobbyist on a tight budget
Style: Track Saw
While this saw might not suit a pro, it works quite nicely for this experienced homeowner and hobby woodworker. I can't think of paying $600-900 for a power tool on social security. I've done several cuts with this saw(with a better blade) and am pleased with the results(my needs are mostly sheet goods breakdown). The depth setting could have been done better, but I don't fuss with it very often. My biggest complaint relates to what I assume is a safety feature that prevents kickback as it also prevents sliding the saw backwards with only one hand(you must use the other hand to twist a knob while sliding backwards). These issues aside, the cuts I got were perfect and the track's gripper strips held well without clamps on plywood(clamps are a must on smoother stuff like pegboard). The entire package(110" of track, 2 clamps and a 40T blade as still super affordable. Dust collection is so so, but gets better if you get a plug to fill the side hole(available on etsy for cheap). If you have lots of cash, buy better, If you are on a budget, this will make you quite happy. ... show more
