  • Manufacturing defect causing blade to drift more than 1/16 in backwards around the welding point
I bought this 1/2" wide blade to replace an older duller blade on my WEN 10" bandsaw. After installing the blade, adjusting the tension, centering the deepest part of the gullet to the middle of the wheel and fine tuning the top and bottom guides to perfection, I realized the blade was drifting backward somewhere between 1/16" and 1/8" at one particular spot near the welding point. This led me to believe it was either a defect in the blade or possibly a mis-alignment in my wheels. If this backward drift were to occur on all of my other blades then the problem would be my saw, however I put on 3 older blades and confirmed there was absolutely zero drift forwards or backwards. All of my old blades ran perfectly smooth, and because the drift in this newest blade was so exaggerated (and only at the joint) it clearly is a manufacturing defect in the blade. The only reason this isn't a 1 star review is because I did at least receive the blade, even though it is unusable, and if this is just bad luck or poor quality control on this one blade then I'll be happy to update my review if and when I make a successful exchange or refund. I've been a huge fan of WEN products and haven't encountered any issues before now. ... show more

  • Very dangerous. Horrible quality
I normally don't bother with reviews but my experience with this band saw blade was extremely dangerous. Please don't purchase this blade as quality assurance was severely lacking on my item. I installed on my band saw per the band saw instructions. I adjusted all rollers and tightness as expected. The blade was making a clicking/scrubbing noise. Upon inspection I found the connection joint did not look good at the union and even had a noticeable wobble at speed. I wanted to give it a shot anyway and proceeded to cross section cut a piece of black cherry I had worked on for 2 weeks to get right on my lathe. The initial cut was so jagged and damaged I realized my piece may be ruined. Upon the 2nd cut the blade grabbed the wood at the blade union and stopped the blade immediately bending the blade much further. The impact split the piece from the impact making it and all the work I put into it worthless. It took hours to get this bent blade out of my band saw. Thank God the blade didn't break at the faulty union. I am very fortunate that I didn't get injured. Please don't buy this blade. Its not worth the risk to have this type of negligence spinning at a high rate of speed inches away from your face or extremities. ... show more

  • It's actually a decent blade!
I've bought this blade 4 or more times and while it's worth the money, It will not last. This is a 2 project blade.. it will quickly dull, but absolutely worth 13 bucks shipped. I'll be trying other blades soon but this is a "good enough" blade for most people using this type of bandsaw. It cuts really great for about a month of constant use, then youll notice it cutting slower and slower. It will fit inside the wen10" saw, you just cant set up the gullet of the blade in the center, it has to be more forward for all the parts to clear. Hope this helps ... show more

  • High precision cuts on thick wood are out of the question.
I guess it needs different tension than their 5/8" blade because it just keeps jumping off and I finally gave up and trashed it. It took me an hour to install it when it only took 5 min to install the 5/8" blade. I am really unimpressed with it and my Wen 10" band saw's cheap plastic adjustment knob broke off trying to adjust the bearings next to the blade. Wen's saw's are only good for very thin cuts. High precision cuts on thick wood are out of the question. ... show more

  • Good for the price
Sharp, thin blade. My only complaint is when using it in my band saw the blade makes a clicking noise. After a while of searching for the cause, I found that where the blade was welded it was ground down just a bit to much causing a low spot which seems to make a clicking sound in my saw. Not a big deal it does not effect the performance, just annoying to hear a constant clicking while working. ... show more

  • BAD weld job on the blade. HIGHLY UNSAFE
The welding job is so bad on the blade joint that every time it hits the wood, it makes a very loud, very unnerving CLACK. I wholly expect this thing to snap within the first week. Sending it back and buying something from a reputable company.

  • Dusty
Ok so this fit fine and no problem with adjustments on 10 inch WEN. Good price. Blade also gave a pretty smooth cut. However blade cuts slow and creates a lot of very fine dust. I assume from the 6 tpi.

  • Perfect fit for my shopsmith bandsaw.
Aggressive cutting and quiet. Leaves more tooth marks then my other blade. Use it to cut out 5/4 pressure treated for Adirondack chairs and porch swings
