Description

Remember when you had clean and quiet portable power? The WEN 4800-Watt Inverter Generator provides clean energy, free of voltage spikes and drops, without all the noise of a regular generator. Produce up to 4800 surge watts and 4000 rated watts of power. Our 224cc engine operates at a modest 62 decibels at quarter load. This limits its invasiveness while camping, hunting, tailgating, and restoring backup power. The WEN 4800W Inverter Generator is also equipped with fuel shutoff. This feature turns off the flow of fuel, allowing for the generator to use up the remaining fuel from the carburetor before automatically shutting down. This helps fight the build-up and blockages caused by stagnant fuel inside of the carburetor, minimizing maintenance while prolonging the unit’s lifespan. Designed to mirror a pure sine wave, this generator limits total harmonic distortion to under 0.3 percent at no load and under 1.2 percent at full load, making it safe to run laptops, cellphones, monitors, tablets and other sensitive electronics. The built-in wheels and telescoping handle make for easy portability while the ultra-efficient 1.9-gallon tank provides up to 7 hours of half-load run time. The fully-packed panel comes equipped with four three-prong 120V NEMA 5-20R receptacles, one 12V DC receptacle, one 120V TT-30R RV receptacle, and two 5V USB ports. Maximize fuel economy by engaging the eco-mode switch. This allows the generator's engine to automatically adjust its fuel consumption as items are plugged into and unplugged from the panel, preventing the unnecessary usage of gasoline. Need more energy? Easily link up any two WEN inverter generators using a WEN Parallel Connection Kit (sold separately) in order to share wattage amongst multiple units. Super quiet and works great. The handle makes it easy to roll around and the connections and directions are easy to understand. I use it for my camper but I live in FL so I also will be prepared for any storms that happen to come along. It starts on the first or second pull every time. Use ethanol free gas, use the fuel cutoff when you are not going to use it for more than a couple of days, do the break in and oil changes, and don't leave fuel sitting in it for a long time and it should last a long time. It's the perfect size to fit in the back of my truck with the tonneau cover on so it's hidden and it's not too heavy to lift or move around. This generator provided more than enough power for my 30amp camper and I used the AC, the microwave, lights, and who knows what else we had plugged in and there was hardly a noticeable power draw. ... show more

This little generator is the best value I have ever seen. The quality is exceptionally good, and it always starts on the first or second pull. The output of the inverter Meets or Exceeds the Rated Capacity for continuous as well as surge load. (I'm an electrical engineer, and generators are something of a hobby to me. I own a lot of them) This is Huge because a lot of other inverter generators do not come close to the rated output, or suffer Serious voltage drops when subjected to load spikes (like starting an air conditioner). These WEN units provide exceptional surge capability and excel at starting inductive loads like air conditioners (provided you have a soft-start installed). I have a pair of these 56477i units with manual start. They are so easy to start, I see the electric start option as overkill and something else that needs a battery to maintain. Two of these units (with my self-designed Phase Sync Box that creates 240v Split-Phase Power) run my Entire House, including the 4-Ton AC, a 1-Ton Mini-Split AC, Two Refrigerators, A Chest Freezer, and all lights and computers Simultaneously ! I just alternate which one of these I take on trips with my RV so they get even usage, and while at home the pair of them make a very portable 9600 Watt Whole-House Generator (for 1/3rd the cost). I also have four of the 2350 watt suitcase-style generators from WEN. (The 56235i models) I can also say that a pair of the 2350 units do exactly match the power and performance of the 4800. I also run my entire house exactly as stated above using FOUR of the 2350 units with my Phase-Sync Box. Here are a couple of pictures. Purchased for use with my camper. I was a little nervous buying, but I'm glad I did. It starts easier than the Honda generator I have at work. Runs quiet, and has more than enough power to run my AC, lights, fridge, and microwave. Zero issues. I did purchase the high altitude kit and magnetic oil dip stick. I have the 2000W version from WEN and this machine is almost as quiet as that one. Did all the initial stuff that is outlined in the documentation and it started on the 2nd pull. From my experience with my 2000w, as long as you run the fuel out of the carb, the next time you start it will within 5 pulls. I was unfamiliar with the Wen brand so was sceptical but the price was very good so I decided to purchase. I've been extremely satisfied with the purchase. I've got a couple hundred hours on the generator with zero issues. It's very quiet, especially for it's size. The plastic body is good quality. I had to put a high altitude kit on it which was easy to get from Wen directly and it was shipped promptly. The weight is manageable with the long telescoping handle and wheels. It's starts with a few pulls every time. The two things that kept me from a 5 star rating are the fuel level indicator which reads wrong sometimes. Also, the switch could be improved. The setting between choke and run is very "soft" and does not have a positive "click" when going from choke to run. Overall, I would purchase again and recommend. ... show more

    • A mind-changer of epic proportion

UPDATE: I never imagined I’d be writing this. So, the first use was flawless. Camping trip was a success. Stored it per mfr recommendations. Now that I want to use it, IT WILL NOT START. I read a few reviews like this but now I’m experiencing this issue. I’m not new to small engine equipment and this is ridiculous. I cannot in good conscience recommend this unit. I’ve owned other WEN products over the years and was less than satisfied for many of them… until now. I needed an inverter generator for an RV trip that could completely support the RV. 4000w is what I needed and this was the best option on paper available in that power range. This unit ran the AC, lights, pumps, appliances without a hitch. This was not a temporary run but rather constant operation with exception of refeulling and an oil drop after the first 9hrs of constant operation. A total of 70+ hrs were run on this unit afterwards. The most surprising stat is how much runtime I got from a full tank. 12hrs at one point before running dry. I received many compliments from others about the noise level being so low. They all had open frame models that were definitely louder. I was unsure of this purchase but I’m now a believer.
