Description

The WEN 4500-Watt Electric Start Inverter Generator produces clean energy free of voltage spikes and drops without all of the noise of a regular generator. Generate up to 4500 surge watts and 3500 rated watts of power. Our 212cc 4-stroke air-cooled OHV engine operates at an extremely quiet 58 decibels at quarter load and 57 decibels at no load, about as quiet as a window air conditioner or the average conversation. This limits its invasiveness while hunting, camping, tailgating and restoring back-up power. The keyless electric start lets you turn on your generator at the press of a button, and includes a recoil pull starter as backup. The WEN 4500W Inverter Generator is also equipped with fuel shutoff. This feature turns off the flow of fuel, allowing the generator to use up the remaining fuel from the carburetor before automatically shutting down. This helps fight the build-up and blockages caused by stagnant fuel inside of the carburetor, minimizing maintenance while prolonging the unit’s lifespan. Designed to mirror a pure sine wave, this generator limits total harmonic distortion to under 0.3 percent at no load and under 1.2 percent at full load, making it safe for laptops, cellphones, monitors, tablets and other vulnerable electronics. The lightweight design along with the built-in wheels and folding handle make for easy portability while the ultra-efficient 2.2-gallon tank provides up to 8.5 hours of half-load run time. Our fully-packed panel comes equipped with two 3-prong 120V standard household receptacles, one RV-ready AC 120V 30A NEMA TT-30R receptacle, one 12V DC receptacle, two 5V USB ports and an easy-to-read digital fuel and load display. The media could not be loaded. Really nice generator straight out the box I just put the brake and oil in and it’s running right now. The battery works great electric start works great all you gotta do is hook up the quick connects that are in there. Excellent Generator. Starts up every time. Super Quiet. I run it 7 hours a day 7 days a week for 3 months on my Ice Cream truck. I can stand beside it and still have a conversation. Hardly can hear it inside the truck. Maintenance is easy. I would buy again if I need another one later. A little on the heavy side for me, but once I have it mounted, it really does not matter.     • Electric start deader than a door nail
Runs great and very quiet, but after running it 2 hours I tried to electric start it since the instructions seem to recommend doing that. No go. Might not be the battery since it shows 13.5 volts on my volt meter. Instructions say to hook up the negative quick connect wire because they ship it disconnected so as not to drain the battery. Somebody may have had this unit already since it was already connected. By the time I got in on Friday, Wen had already closed for the weekend. Will have to see what they say come Monday. I wish I would have smelled the gas tank before I put gas in it. Will update latter on....... Update 10/23/03 Okay, I called the tech # and there was apparently a change in the battery wiring harness that has to be hooked up a little differently that deviates from the instructions. They had the harness connecter zip tied separating the two ends that had to be connected. Cut the zip tie and then hook the 2 ends that has protective ends on them together. There is no longer just a single "negative quick connect" that has to be connected. ... show more

    • Dose the job
Great little generator for the money, this is all you need to get by for a few days if you lose power, we are here in Florida and the main reason we got this is to prepared for hurricane season. I also did invest in a nice cabinet style ac unit 12000btu is the size that is enough to cool down 500 square ft. This generator is very quiet electric start with a backup pull start, and enough power to keep the refrigerator, TV, a few lights, and most importantly the portable ac unit going until the power is back on. When you first get the unit please do take the time to break the generator in properly, just doing this will definitely extend the life of your unit, the only other thing I would suggest is to replace the oil dip stick to a magnetic tip dip stick. This will collect any metal shavings that are circulating in the oil case while it's running ... show more

    • Works well but horrendous prep
Had to use this today. First power failure since we bought it. It works well and did exactly with its supposed to, also pretty quiet. The preparation however was incredibly bad. It’s almost impossible to put in oil. You’re adding oil to a flexible tube rather than a normal filter point, you have to keep it elevated or it pours out again and the actual hole in the tube is way too small for any funnel I was able to find. End result is it takes much longer than it should and there’s plenty of unavoidable spillage. Secondly, connecting the battery. This is easy enough to do but there’s no way of getting the cover back on afterwards, it simply doesn’t fit once the wires are connected. I ended up with the cover sort of back on but bowed. It gets four stars for working well once it’s set up. Loses a start for the ridiculous prep. ... show more

    • Nice little generator
We've used this generator for a total of five nights so far, I also start it and let it run for about an hour once per month. It has performed flawlessly. We used it to power our small travel trailer while we slept at interstate rest stops during a three day trip across the country. The unit was quiet, and only burned about 2/3's of a tank of gas (a tank holds about two gallons I believe). It had no trouble powering the microwave or our TV, in addition to my wife's CPAP machine. If you are not going to be using it to capacity (in the middle of the night with no AC or electric heat), you can run it in ECO mode which makes it twice as quiet and I would imagine make the fuel last longer. I also ran the generator during a power outage one night here at our campsite. It ran consistently through a very heavy thunderstorm, through rain and wind it just kept purring along. Got this to run our RV (which it did without any issue), but a couple weeks later a storm blew through and we were without power for 4 days. Ran our RV and two refrigerators without any issue.
