So I have IBS-C. I've tried many different products. My sister also does, and recommended a stool softener. So I bought this. The pills are easy to swallow. But I've tried taking this multiple times now, and I had to stop.. It caused my stomach to hurt excruciatingly badly. I was screaming and crying telling my boyfriend I needed to go to the ER. I thought my IUD must've perforated my uterus or something to cause pain this severe. I finally went to the bathroom but not much, and it eased slightly.. But next time I tried it same thing. It was awful. I am used to stomach pain from gas/constipation, I'm not a wimp about stomach pain. This was way beyond any normal level of pain that you'd expect from anything ever. It was the worst physical thing I've ever felt in my whole life. It didn't even make me poop much! Just hurt so so so so very much. I couldn't move, could hardly breathe. I had an appointment with my GI doctor shortly after, and she had me look at the ingredients and confirmed that the stimulant aspect could cause that kind of pain. I guess I thought it wasn't a stimulant in the same way a regular old laxative was.. I thought they just were calling it a stimulant because it technically stimulates the bowels to soften your stool..Nope. The stimulant in this is hardcore and I'll never try it again. Like, I wish I could accurately convey how much this hurt. But you wouldn't believe me. You'd say, that's not possible just from this product. You'd be wrong. Since I stopped taking it, I've never had that pain again. And I am on prescription IBS meds (Amitiza) so it's not that my bowels just aren't used to a medication trying to help them work. I guess there's a chance it was just a reaction my specific body/insides had to this, and it wouldn't happen to anyone else.. But I wanted to warn you. ... show more

I have to take two a day to try to struggle to have a bowel movement. I thought I had a great vegetarian diet, but when doctors put you on enough RX's you're waiting for your third eyeball to grow you seek help when you can't poop! Even with this, which works the same for me as the brand name crap I purchased at a well known store that only opens one register per 400 customers, I still have to follow this Softener up with 2 laxatives 2-3 times a week. ... show more

I used it for almost a week and nothing happened. I have used similar products that work very well. I called the company and they gave me some ridiculous reason it might not work but would check and said she would call me back the next day. Well you heard from her the same way I did. I was temporarily on pain and muscle management med's for some slipped disks, however the med's I was prescribed BACKED ME UP! I took a couple of these for several days until I figured out they just weren't going to work. Save your money and go to the store for some real constipation relief.

The med techs at my Dad's assisted living facility said the label on this bottle is ridiculously hard to read because it is stupid WHITE lettering on a pale blue background. Not only stupid but dangerous as well.

I am wondering if maybe I got a bad batch? I know that this formula works for me because I have previously bought docusate sodium CVS brand and it worked perfectly. I'm also bummed I got the 400 ct, but I guess that's my fault. If you're looking to try--definitely just get the smaller one, not worth the risk. But I wouldn't bother at all, honestly. ... show more
