  • good but exired?
Style Name: Sensitive Calming Oil
I have rosacea and found this to be a nice and hydrating oil. Was surprised to find the expiration date 11/22,as also mentioned by another reviewer. I looked at the Weleda site and they don't carry this item any longer. (?) Because you only need to use a little bit at a time, I still have LOTS of oil left in the bottle and will continue to use it unless it starts to smell or feel odd. P.S. Skin Food Original has also been a life-saver for my face. (Not specifically the 'for face' version, just the regular one.) ... show more

  • Skin saver!!!!!!!
OMG, I absolutely LOVE the Weleda Almond line. I have super dry and sensitive skin and was so desperate to find something that would moisturize without making me break out like when I was a teenager. After trying several Weleda products (selected because they are good on sensitive skin), I finally settled on a combination of Almond products. This oil is amazing! I was worried to use any kind of oil on my face, but I have never broken out after using this (have been using it for over a year, now). I start with the almond oil, followed by almond facial lotion and finish with Weleda cold cream. This trio packs an amazing punch of moisture. It does stay "oily" on my face for about 15 minutes and then it absorbs, leaving my skin smooth and ready for makeup. It has softened my skin, reduced the appearance of blemish scars and really softened my laugh lines and eye wrinkles. I love the way it smells (yes, a little "health food" store-ish) and the smell is not overwhelming at all. I get the best results when I remember to wash my face before bed and use the same trio. I wake up and my face is soooooooooo soft. I love using whatever combination of these on my kids during the summer for sun-induced dry skin and in the winter when their skin starts to crack from the cold dry. They use a much lighter moisturizer on their faces that usually does the trick, but when that isn't enough, two days of putting this combination on and they are good as new! The almond oil seems pricey, but a bottle lasts me almost two months, so the price is very reasonable for how long it lasts. ... show more

  • Nice Fragrance-Free Natural Facial Oil That will Suit Sensitive Skin Types. Almond oil makes it a thicker product than most.
Style Name: Sensitive Calming Oil
Very nice product from a well-known brand of natural skin (face and body) products. A German company, Weleda follows the biodynamic gardening principles of the philosopher Rudolph Steiner. Much of the ingredients in Weleda's products are grown in biodynamic farms in Germany. Germany has very strict standards for skin care products in order to make shelf placement in German pharmacies. Not completely unlike Dr. Hauschka, but at a lower price point, Weleda makes exceptional products. Cruelty-free and with no synthetic ingredients, this facial oil is great for sensitive skin. The only reason I left one star off of my review is because I find the oil (almond) a bit heavy for my paper thin skin. I suggest using it with an alcohol-free toner to glide the oil over the surface of the skin, using gentle pressure with the palms of the hand to press the oil into areas where lines form. I also use it in conjunction with Zia Botanicals Carrot Seed Oil, which is a lighter oil and organic. Also, for super dry, sensitive skin, try Weleda's Pomegranate Body Oil and Regenerating Hand Cream (Pomegranate). Especially if you live in the colder states of the U.S. This review was written by a former skin and body care buyer for Whole Foods Market, a company that sets a high measure for skin care products. ... show more

  • love it and have used it since 2008!!!
Style Name: Sensitive Calming Oil
My skin loves this Weleda Almond facial oil. I started to use this oil in 2008 while I was living in Freigburg, Germany. It took me a little while to get used to the faint fragrance of almond, but after that, I started to fall in love with it and have used it since then. If you are sensitive to scent and chemical, I'd recommend you to try it in a small amount first to see how your system would react to it. The oil is not fragrance free (in my opinion) because I can still smell the sweet and distinctive scent of almond when I apply it on my skin. However, it is a natural scent derived from natural ingredients. It is not overwhelming to me. I use it on face daily all year round while I lived in the Bay Area in California because the weather is dry there. It is also great to be used as a medium to help thicker facial cream (like Weleda Cold Cream) to spread more evenly on and absorb into the skin better. In the Northeast, I limit my use of this oil during peak summer time. Because of the design of the cap and the band around the neck of the bottle, it is not sealed very tightly, it might spill when it does not stand up right or when there is in a pressurized environment like on a plane. Therefore, when I travel, I always put the bottle in a small-size zip-log bag and seal it so that if it spills, the oil is contained within the zip-log bag. ... show more

  • Skin saver in a blue bottle
Style Name: Sensitive Calming Oil
The polar vortex this past winter killed my skin. I was desperate for more moisture. I had read good reviews of facial oils in general and this one in particular. I'm impressed with it, enough to have bought it again. How I use it: The main way I use it is to add 2 drops to a dollop of my Nivea cream, work them together, and apply as a night cream in the summer. In the winter, I might do this twice a day. Sometimes I apply 6-7 drops on moist skin for instant moisture. Rub the excess from hands into cuticles to keep them soft. Why I like it: Mostly it's the packaging-- blue glass prevents light degradation, and the tip allows drop by drop dispensing. One bottle has lasted me from January until now, so it's cost-effective, even when I used a lot more in the winter. It has very little fragrance (from what I can detect, it's the odor of the oils in the mix). It absorbs relatively quickly (it's oil, it won't absorb completely, and that's part of the point of oil). I had also tried pure argan oil before this one, and it made my face hurt. I must react to it or something. I love the argan oil for the rest of my body. ... show more
