I bought this and another brand to use detailing a motorhome. I was going to test and return one that I liked less but it's been too long so I get to keep them both. At the price paid I'm not bothered. Maybe I just needed two and it wasn't really a mistake? I'll never know. I did look at them and they are pre-assembled and will be easy to use.

I’ve had this buffer 4 weeks Pros Strong motor speed controller maintains speed despite pressure. Cons Smells like hot plastic during use but hasn’t stopped working. Noisy bearing in the random oscillator mechanism.

This is the very first polisher I've ever owned so you can definitely say I'm very new to the car polishing scene. I picked this Dual Action Polisher because the oscillating action of the polishing head adds a bit of a safety feature to protect from burning through the clear coat and paint. I'm also working on my polishing technique, making sure not to go too slow that I'll burn through the paint but also to not go too fast that I'm not effectively correcting scratches or polishing. The D-type handle and the straight side handle are great additions for personal holding comfort. I opted to use the D handle to give me the most flexibility in terms of gripping the handle with either my left or right hand. The D handle allows me to easily place the polisher on it's back so I don't have the pad touching the counter top when I lay it down. I'm glad this kit came with a 6" and 5" backing plate since I picked up a set of 5" polishing pads from a third party company. The process of using the provided wrench to hold down the axle while unscrewing the backing plate only took a few seconds so I don't mind that there is no built in axle locking button that more expensive polishers manufacturers integrate into their designs. The hook and loop backing plates worked really well with the the included pads and the third party pads. They pads were a bit hard to remove but I think they will become easier as they get broken in. I'm not familiar with the number rating scale used with the included bottles of polishing or correcting creams so I decided to use a third party light correcting cream and will take a look at the included creams when I understand how to use them. The polisher has a long cord but I still needed to connect it to an extension chord due to the location of the wall outlet. The polisher does have a little bit of vibration due to the oscillations, but I still felt in control when polishing. The low side of the RPMs seemed a bit high in the description for a beginner, but I was able to spread out the polish very easily and I didn't get any splattering. Bringing up the speed to do the correcting or polishing was pretty easy. For me it would have been easier if the dial had more of a click when I changed the speeds so I could feel the number of clicks to determine what setting I was at starting from the lowest speed. In the end I was able to get some scratches off of the finish of the car and give the car a great shine. I'm quite happy with the results.

I work in a repair shop not a body shop. This tool is perfect for what we do. Comes with 2 different size heads. Lots of accessories. The way the handle works could be a bit better but other than that it does the trick. Don't know about the longevity of the tool yet.

Used for buffing and polishing two vehicles so far. This machine handles very well and isn't all that noisy. Granted, I've never used any other variant of this machine but I did enjoy my experience as a first-timer!

It is not usual to get a product that is better than expected these days; however, this polisher/sander is. For the price, I was expecting it to have a low end, light duty motor and gearbox - As soon as I picked it up I noticed the weight of the tool - it felt substantial, like my high priced, name-brand angle grinder. It runs smoothly and quietly, and running a test on some chalking gelcoat, it quickly and easily polished the surface. It also comes with a top loop handle and a side handle so so you can use what works best for you. While it comes with four small bottles of different grit polish/wax combos, knowing no details about the wax I would not use them on my more prized possessions. It did a good job on the gelcoat oxidation; just not sure I would use it on clearcoat on a car. The polisher itself and the supplied pads however, are a winner, and I will be using it a lot on my family cars to keep them polished -
