This is not professional quality but it's a good consumer product, not a toy. Unit is sturdy metal and the price is reasonable compared to higher end mini polishers. The charging requires removal of battery but they provide two of them, and they last long enough. Wish the speed were easier to set. It has to be set again each time you power it on. What impressed me most is how versatile it is. I've used it for polishing, sanding, applying wax, cleaning, and removing light imperfections, and it has handled every task with ease. Well, I have to say, this is a GREAT little tool/polisher. I had a few mild and somewhat deeper scratches on my '18 Honda Goldwing and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of this tool to see what could be done about them. I also ordered the SPTA compound kit with the three different levels of compound. The kit arrived and was well packaged. I charged up both batteries and jumped right in with one 2" wool pad and the course cutting compound. That zapped out the hard scratches in short order. I then changed pads so I could apply the medium compound. That worked outstanding too. Then, a change to a foam pad and introduced the fine cutting/polishing compound. WOW! It turned absolutely fantastic! For the most part, you can't tell where any of the scratches were. Now, all this depends on the depth of scratches so, just because I got mine out, doesn't mean all of yours will disappear with this tool. So, just keep that in mind. I'm totally happy with this tool/polisher. I'd order another in a heartbeat if necessary. ... show more

Outstanding polisher and sanding tool. Versatile, lightweight, compact, powerful, quiet and durable. I used this to strip off 19 year old paint on my aluminum wheels and polish them using 80-600 grit sanding disks. I also used it to restore my foggy yellowed headlights using water and baking soda. See before and after photos. The battery lasts 30 minutes so you may need to buy more than the two supplied. ... show more

The console of my Jeep Grand Cherokee is made of that high-gloss black plastic that scratches when you look at it wrong. I watched several videos on YouTube on how to remove those scratches. In two of the videos I watched, the detailers used this very polisher. One of the detailers put a link in the comments section, so I followed it here and purchased it, together with the recommended polish. I've made one pass on the console, and the difference is night and day. This thing works like a charm. It's a great package, too. It comes in a nice case with two batteries, mounting hardware and a ton of different polishing pads. I went this route over hand polishing for consistency in speed, pad pressure and swirls, and I'm glad that I did. But wait - there's more! So, my bathtub is acrylic and it has some miles on it. I do polish it on occasion, but it's a big job. Then, the lightbulb when on. To be sure, the small diameter of the pad is a little undersized for a bathtub, but it just took a little longer to do the job. I used the acrylic polish that I use when I polish it by hand. The difference with the polisher was substantial. My tub shines like a mirror! If you have any need for this type of tool, this is the one you want. Seriously. ... show more

    • Moderately useful tool with really cheap manufacturing.
If you've ever held any Harbor Freight "bauer" tools, you'll know what the construction quality is like. It's perfectly fine, just nothing to write home about. This seems to use at least a permanent magnet motor, but likely not brushless. The neck/gear housing gets hot pretty fast. You cannot grease it. A bearing is pressed into the head. The head is pretty rattle-y sounding, which is a common sign of low/no lubrication in the gear housing in similar quality tools. Grease is slinged around internally in the unit and is visible in the vents. The batteries charge via a barrel jack right on the batts, which no doubt will break at some point. SPTA does sell replacement batts directly at least at reasonable prices. I really wish these no-name tool companies would focus on compatibility with existing popular battery systems, like Milkwaukee M12 vs their proprietary design. Maybe I'll cut apart a battery case and make myself a milwaukee adapter. As a polisher, it works well, but your pad will stall quickly if any pressure is applied or you’re at anything other than a perfect angle. With the size of the pads you'll be using, you'll want no more than the tool weight itself for pressure anyways. The included pads are trash. Weirdly the set they sell separately for about $15 is much better and has flared edges on the foam pads and better adhesive for the velcro seemingly too. I don’t really recommend it. It's a big savings versus a Rupes nano, but the DA function is basically useless. More useful as a baby rotary but at that point it’s basically a right angle drill. And a wash on quality versus other alternatives. With the battery situation and included pads being kinda junk, I wish it was priced more competitively with other import/FBA units (~ $100-$120 would be appropriate for the quality), but I went with the "tried and true" most others have bought at a slight premium and I think it was a miss. Update: SPTA support via WhatsApp stated my unit may have been defective and offered to replace it. Even if it wasn’t rattly, the DA function is useless. I returned the unit. ... show more
