I've been trying to find a new detergent that will replace the one I once had. The one I am still looking for was able to strip tarnish instantly and worked so well I was in awe. This works great, I was pleased with the results. I usually soak sterling silver for 15-25 minutes and gold 5-15 minutes. There was still a layer of some tarnish that I needed to use a cloth for, but that being said, this is still the most effective one I have found so far. The two times I have ordered it, I would not recommend "traveling" with it... unless you can tape it up and seal it. I haven't used it on opals or Emeralds as it indicates; so I can't say much bad about it! It works great. ... show more

The solution works great. However, I had trouble opening the container - the black cap on top broke off. So I had to clean bunch of stuff at once and dispose of the rest of the solution since I was not able to close the top and store.

When I opened the container, I was overpowered by the strong smell of ammonia. In fact, I dropped the container into the bathroom sink. And that fiasco left me with about 3/4" of the cleaner that didn't spill out. It does do a fantastic job of cleaning my wedding rings. I bought this solely because I needed something that would clean Platinum. It does an excellent job of what I bought it for, but I don't know about the ammonia smell. ... show more

    • Cleans my jewelry well
This is a great product (I've used it before), but the new jar is not as sturdy as the old one. Plus, the lid is flimsy and does not screw on tightly. I would never try to travel with it, as it would spill all over the place. I actually transferred it to my old jar & threw the new one away.

I usually use the brand that comes in the red jar but decided to try this. I think this product works better - I have gotten so many compliments on my wedding rings since switching to this! Amazing price , great jewelry cleaner. Super easy to use and I love that it comes with a little brush to clean my rings , earrings and necklace every few days. Doesn’t have a gross scent like some other cleaners do.
