I got a few different ones from Walmart, and one of those was great and the other shredded. I put gravel on top of this one from Amazon and it had stood up well against pesky weeds and grass. It drains water, and is thick enough withough being cumbersome. I think it was a good value. If you just wanted to lay it down bare you could probably sweep it easily to clean off seeds or other debris with landscape stakes to keep it still.

I covered a 20 foot strip of a new flower bed. It had curves and mat was easily cut to accommodate. Heavy enough to do the job, but light enough to cut and manipulate easily. I will let you know in 2 or 3 years, if it kept weeds from sprouting.😊

Works great. Laided down easy, ( depending on the wind), cuts easy with scissors or box cutter. I perfer scissors. Easy to use 6" staples, to tack it to the ground unless you hit rock. In parts of Central Texas we have plenty of rock. But, it went well. I will send a couple pic's of work done. Hope this helps.
