This works well for most weeds, but doesn't seem to kill wild grasses very well. On most other weeds it is effective within 24 hours, but some require a second treatment. Overall, I am very pleased with its effectiveness. The design of the product is superb. Switching from an empty container of weed killer to to a full gallon replacement is simple and fast. The spray wand folds out simply and is battery powered. The batteries (2 AAA) can be replaced by unscrewing the end of the wand handle. Easy peasy! The tube that feeds the spray from the container is bent forward in the jug so that almost every drop is sucked out. No waste. Some reviewers have said they didn't like the odor of Spruce, but I dont find it offensive at all, and it doesn't last long. With all this being said, it is not as effective or fast acting as Roundup, but this is MUCH safer to use if you have kids or pets around and apparently wildlife too. My home water supply is from a well and is another reason I like this product with no chemicals to threaten my water supply. I order gallon refills from Amazon and it's delivered within two-days. Obviously I recommend it highly.

I was skeptical, too good to be true. I was WRONG. It not only killed my weeds but was so easy to use in this spray bottle. Smelled good actually and I felt so much better that my kids and dog didn’t have to stay away days after spraying it. I loved that it won’t harm them and safe for my garden as well!

I was very excited to buy this because I have so many weeds that I can’t remove them all. Unfortunately, while this works on some weeds — quite quickly— it doesn’t really work on everything and you have to use a lot of this product. The spray function was excellent and the smell is not bad. It’s nontoxic which is great! I think you can only use it on very broad leaf and tender weeds but not grasses or tough weeds. I went through a whole bottle pretty quickly and it’s too expensive to justify getting another one.

This works very well and came up to my expectations of being pet-safe and environmentally friendly. It works best at the first sign of weeds on a gravel driveway, for example, as you have to cover each clump of grass individually. Broadcast spraying doesn’t work well.

The only complaint I have about the product is the packaging and the handling. When the box arrived with 2 big bottles of Spruce inside it was leaking, upon opening the box both bottles were in a box large enough to hold at least 3 if not 4 bottles and the only packing material was a single piece of crumpled brown paper (stuff Amazon has been using a lot lately. So during transit the bottles were moving around in the box and one had the cap smashed down about an inch which caused the leak. I really wish Spruce offered a larger 2 to 5 gallon refill size for use with a traditional chemical sprayer, only because I have a fairly large yard which is covered in rock beds not grass, and I will definitely need to get some more. There is a slightly perfume like smell which is not unpleasant but it lets you know you are working with something not completely inert. It killed all the weeds in the area of my rocks where I sprayed it in a matter of minutes and I was able to easily pull the really tall ones the next day without issue. Since we have a lot of wildlife and a handful of neighborhood pets who visit our yard I felt much better using a product that is advertised as pet safe instead of RoundUp or another harsh chemical.

Good product and, hopefully, is safe for pets. In areas where there are lots of weeds, it takes 2 -3 uses to totally kill but once done and used in conjunction with an anti-germination product such as Preen, my flowerbeds are gorgeous!

This kills a weed but another quickly grows behind it . Safe for people and animals. So it isn't as efficient as maybe round up. But suppose to be better. I use it in a few things in the yard or garden but depend on round up for jobs that need the nuisance gone. I think spruce is a temporary solution.

Spruce weed killer is a relatively effective weed and grass killer, but it's not a total solution like Roundup, although it's less toxic than Roundup. I sprayed the area I had weeds and grass to be killed, and it did a decent job except for onion grass. It does not kill onion grass, but it did kill my actual grass, killed my clover, and killed the knotweed I had. You do need to coat the entire plant. its not like you can just spray a little and be done, spray the entire plant, all the leaves etc for it to be effective. As for smell, there are many different opinions on it, but most reviews either say bad or good, but not what it actually smells like. It smells like citronella candles for mosquitoes. A really strong Citronella smell, but I don't mind it.
