The padded crown and nose and are great, and don’t create rubs. The halter is very durable and washable. My only complaint is the Chicago screw which holds the leather breakaway strap together had to be tightened with a screwdriver about 3 weeks after I got it, but it seems fine now. Great quality for a great price. The only advice I would give is if you have a horse with a big head like my OTTB, it is a little snug even having it on the last hole. There is not much room to add an additional hole. However, it still fits him so to me it’s still a win!

    • Decent Halter For the Money

This breakaway halter is nicely padded on the nose band and head band. The ad was a little misleading, it says leather but look closely, these halters are corded. The only leather part is the breakaway strap. I ordered purple and it was true to color when I received it. I am only unhappy with the durability. The throat strap clip already broke and my filly has only been wearing the halter during the day for the past month. I'm hoping this isn't a sign of things to come, and was just a fluke part. Overall, I can't complain. You get what you pay for. Update: I am happy to report that the company is replacing the defective halter. I was asked to supply information and photographs by Shalana in customer service at the Weaver company. She was very pleasant and helpful. ... show more
