I purchased this Garmin Forerunner 970 for my husband for Father’s Day last year. He has been a loyal fan of the Forerunner series for years, as his previous two watches each reliably lasted a couple of years. Unfortunately, this one stopped working entirely just one year after purchase—exactly 20 days after the warranty expired. It is incredibly frustrating to see that while the price of garmin watches has gone up, the build quality has significantly gone down. Given his history with the brand, we expected much better longevity. I cannot recommend this model if you are looking for a reliable, long-term fitness watch. ... show more

I've had a Forerunner 935 for *years* and it recently died. I was 100% sure I'd just but a new watch of the same model, because I loved it. It did just what I needed, and it did it well. I had no complaints, and what could I possibly need all those other features for? But when my husband mentioned "It's a TOOL you use EVERY DAY" I thought about the price per day, spread over the 5+ years I had my old watch, it made a lot more sense to spring for the 955. The added features are delightful. I haven't spend too much time yet, but I've so far enjoyed all the ones I've tested out. I think the coolest thing so far is the suggested workouts for the day. If I weren't training for something with a plan already in place, I'd definitely be using those! ... show more

    • Don't waste your money on the earbuds that come with this Garmin!
The Garmin Forerunner 955 is awesome, although it does have a fairly steep learning curve. It might take several more months to learn all the functions. The earbuds that came with the watch "Wearable4U Black Earbuds Bundle" are total crap, I wouldn't pay 5 bucks for them. Pause is one touch, next/last song 2 touches, volume up / down is 3 touches. I dare you to try and turn the volume up or down without going next/last song or pausing the music. ... show more

    • Watch is amazing; the headphones are some of the worst ever
The Garmin watch is top notch as expected. However these headphones are an absolute money grab. They blip constantly, they drop from both iPhones and the watch it self. AirPods, beats, any other headphones work flawlessly but the headphones might as well throw in trash as soon as received.
