  • It's fast, big, but you'll need a screw!
Style: SN850X w/ Heatsink - Up to 7,300 MB/s Capacity: 2TB
One thing before you enjoy your drive, the drive requires a M2-M3 screw of sufficient length in order to screw the side, opposite to the insert side, in. You need the top diameter of the screw to fill the half circle on the side of the drive to hold it down hence M2-M3, but it needs to have the proper length. I can't take out the drive and measure the mm, but when I bought some 3mm in length screws, they were not long enough. Go for 5-7 mm at my guess. Other than that, install away! My performance comments are next. I bought this because I computer game and wanted my load times to be sped up. I transferred my OS to the drive and put all the load timey games on the drive. They do load faster and the heatsink on it has never aloud it to be past 45C. It mostly sits at 35-38C. The 7,300 mbs version seems to be cheaper so go with this one. It has a lot of space and your load times will be about 40-50% faster. I haven't seen the write speeds but I can only guess they are lightning fast. ... show more

  • Couldn't be more easy
Style: SN850X w/ Heatsink - Up to 7,300 MB/s Capacity: 2TB
I constantly had to clean up my PS5 SSD to install a new game - it wasn't until I thought about upgrading that I saw why - the PS5 had an 800GB SSD in it! So, I got this SSD on Prime Day to replace that one with 2TB. Well, as luck would have it, I opened the cover (that did require a youtube video to figure out) and installed the SSD with HeatSink in the easily found covered slot. I removed one screw, slid the SSD in, screwed the cover back onto the SSD Slot, then put the lid back on. And then, I saw that this was *not* a replacement but an extra SSD. I got pretty excited about that - I wonder why I didn't see that coming, as I'm sure in my searches for a larger drive that someone had to have mentioned that. Anyway - After about 10 minutes, I was up and running with another 2TB of screaming fast SSD to store more games that collect virtual dust. Easy to install a very fast SSD, and the PS5 didn't skip a beat. ... show more

  • GREAT price / performance!
Style: SN850X - Up to 7,300 MB/s Capacity: 2TB
Benchmarked the 2TB WD SN850X NVMe drive against my 2TB Seagate Firecuda and my 1TB Samsung 980 Pro. All drives were tested in the #1 (the x4) NVMe slot of my mobo. These drives are all PCIe gen 4. You might think it's unfair to compare 2 2TB drives against 1 1TB drive but that's what I have and the specs for the 2TB and the 1TB versions of the Samsung 980 Pro are identical anyway. That out of the way, the SN850X benched (unsurprisingly) noticeably faster than the 1TB 980 Pro, especially in writing, but only slightly slower than the Firecuda in reading. In writing, the SN850X was negligably faster than the Firecuda. The graphics show different partitions on the drive being tested. The 1st one is near the beginning of the drive, the 2nd is near the middle, the 3rd is toward the end. My conclusion: yes, the Firecuda is -- in most tests -- faster than the SN850X but the Firecuda is also quite a bit more expensive. So, for my money, although I don't regret buying the Firecuda I would recommend -- for most people -- getting the SN850X over the usually faster Firecuda. Unless, of course, for you money is no object :) FINAL THOUGHT: Lots of reviews have mentioned how hot this drive gets. I recommend installing an aftermarket heatsink for this drive (no, do NOT remove the sticker. Slap that bad boy right on top of it!). I just tested my $10 low profile heatsink and it lowered my temps by a full 10 degrees C. If you have the room for a full sized heatsink, I recommend that instead; my Firecuda has one and it dropped about 20 degrees C :D ... show more

  • Works great in PS5..
Style: SN850 - Up to 7,000 MB/s Capacity: 2TB
I was debating between the SN850 and the Samsung Pro for my PS5 but after reading reviews, turns out some of the Samsung drives require a firmware update to get the faster download speeds and not having a desktop computer at home, updating the firmware would have been a PIA. Decided to go with the SN850 and it's been great. The 2tb version was offered at great price and even though I don't have a ton of games at this point, I'm sure it will eventually get filled up. The speeds are just as advertised and installation was a breeze. I paired the drive with a Sabrent NVME heatsink that was designed exclusively for the PS5 and everything is working just like it should. Definitely would recommend the combination of the two if you're thinking of extending your storage. ... show more

  • Great
Style: SN850 w/ Heatsink - Up to 7,000 MB/s Capacity: 1TB
What are you doing here looking for advise? Go watch some Linus tech tips or something, they’ll tell you what’s good. But what I can tell you is that it’s super fast even connected to a pcie gen 3 port and being my second one have never had any problems with it and I love it

  • Reliable HIgh-Capacity Drive
Style: SN850X w/ Heatsink - Up to 7,300 MB/s Capacity: 2TB
Very fast and all the space you could want. This is the most reliable high-capacity drive available and its speed is amazing. I don't use it for gaming but saving, loading and booting are lightning fast.

  • Simple installation
Style: SN850X w/ Heatsink - Up to 7,300 MB/s Capacity: 1TB
Easy to pop into Playstation 5. If you have never installed memory before, plenty of videos in YouTube showing you how to do it. I would highly recommend this product for additional ps5 storage space at a reasonable price "while on sale". Use those deal alerts people.
