This SSD is marketed as for ROG Xbox Ally X but it's just the same product as SN7100 ssd. Exact same spec, works the same too. The SSD itself is pretty good, fast read / write speed, less power draw than previous generation (SN850X), and less heat. This makes it very suitable for portable devices like laptop or handheld. I haven't noticed thermal throttling when copying large files (30+min). It also comes with a XBOX game pass (ultimate, 1-month) coupon. The problem with SSD, or any memory product in 2025/2026 is price, it's ridiculously overpriced right now. This solid-state drive comes in two or four terabyte sizes. The memory chips are 3d TLC Nand for more physical writes compared to QLC drives. The board is single-sided, so it is flat at the bottom for better compatibility with sockets soldered close to the motherboard. The drive may be marketed for the ROG Xbox Ally handhelds, but it is a drive that is compatible with any electronics that has an 80mm long NVMe socket. This 2TB drive is rated for read speeds of 7,250MB/s and write speeds of 6900MB/s, which makes it a very fast SSD for most uses. The installation is easy like any 2280mm drive, slide into the socket at an angle and then secure the back end with a screw (most installations) or clamp. After formatting with NTFS, this drive had 1.81TB of usable storage. Remember that manufacturers still rate their storage devices with decimal numbers 1GB=1,000,000,000 bytes; and computers use a binary system that always lower the actual capacity versus the advertised number.
