The K3 Bio Media is perfect DIY applications for moving bed filter applications and is research proven to be efficient. The K3 Bio Media,19-room design offer more surface area for biological filtration capacity. Maximum surface area for the growth of beneficial bacteria to colonize making this media very efficient. It takes approx. 1-6 weeks for the biofilm to form so they can be fully fluidized. An air pump is needed to make the filter media to move, it would be more efficient if there are micro bubbles in water. The media to water ratio: 15%-65%.
