  • A great guitar
Style: Alternative Engineered Wood
Comes with good string height, good intonation, good built-in tuner. I didn’t have to change anything. It sounds great. Can’t beat the price. I would recommend anyone.

Surprised by the quality, and sound it provides for what they call a low budget guitar. Took a chance on a used but in good condition offering from Amazon. Best 180.00 I spent on a guitar.

  • Great guitar
Style: Alternative Engineered Wood
The guitar sounds and looks great but it came damage. Box edges were damaged resulting in fine cracks on finish laminate and in some places it chipped off. Very disappointed with the packaging. It has no foam inserts protecting the guitar.

  • Fine for a beginner guitar I guess - but painful with stock strings
Style: Alternative Engineered Wood
I bought this guitar because of a recommendation online about low-action acooustics. I came from a no-name LTD brand guitar that was $100 at the local music shop, and it played perfectly until after 8 years the neck was warped enough to have bad fret buzz at every action/string type. Queue buying the Washburn, it has raving reviews everywhere, but no one seems to mention the string gauge and fret buzz problems. The stock strings that come with it are EXTREMELY hard to barre chord on the 1st and 2nd frets without destroying your hand; the strings have to be pushed hard enough into the fret to actually cause tone bending. At higher barre chords, you'll get quite a bit of buzz if you aren't positioned perfectly, but it's playable. Herein lies the problem: to eliminate fret buzz, one must go with heavier strings, and to eliminate hand aches from heavy strings being hard to fret, one must go with lighter strings. So essentially, without going to a thinner neck and attempting other saddle and nut setups, I'm stuck with this. I'm going to try lighter strings soon and just hope the buzz isn't bad, but so far I'm disappointed. ... show more

  • Its a comfortable guitar to play with an intricate sound, craftmanship leave a lot to be desired.
Style: Alternative Engineered Wood
Overall, I'm pleased with the sound of this guitar. I was looking for something with a brighter tone and something a bit more agile. I seem to play faster on this guitar. However, with those brighter notes, it certainly lets you know when you've messed up. This has helped my technique a lot over my old guitar which was a lot more deep and muddy sounding. There are over a dozen paint defects on the guitar I received. I've owned comparably priced Epiphones with zero damage out of the box. I will probably steer clear of Washburn in the future. Defects include significantly sized bubbles in the clear coat, micro scratches all over the body of the guitar, and blemishes on either side of all of the frets. Looks great from 8 feet away though. Strings that came with the guitar, play exceptionally well. Anyone complaining about them hurting is probably used to electric guitar strings which are usually a much smaller gauge. As far as acoustic strings go, these are the comfiest strings I've played on in a long time. They are very cheap though and leave black dust all over my finger tips. The built in tuner works as it should, even allows you to tune in drop b. Briefly hooked it up to an old amp I had laying around, sounded pretty good for an acoustic. ... show more

  • Feels cheap
Style: Alternative Engineered Wood
Electronics were/are glitchy The frets stick out of the sides of the neck… The overall sound feels chintzy… I’m hoping the wood will settle and it’ll mature a little bit. Setup was terrible. Maybe I got a dud. For the price, I was willing to take a chance, but I gotta say it did not quickly get filled into the gig rotation. Even after getting it somewhat locked in with a truss rod adjustment, I’m not happy. I’m not a guitar snob. I have tended to gig with ‘beaters’ for almost 15 years because I don’t want to take something brand named/American made where people are drinking… but with TLC it needs to meet a bare minimum with regard to sound, feel, and reliability. This did not get it done for me. ... show more
