  • Warne Mounts = High Quality
I purchased these rings (and bases..) to mount on a moderately heavy recoiling Weatherby Vanguard. My original intent was to mount the scope with Weaver Quad Lock rings on Redfield bases. I changed my mind and decided to go with the Warne all-steel mounts instead. At first glance, and without doing any research, these mounts are not the easiest to use. Because of the vertical orientation of the split ring, it takes a little more time and effort to install these mounts correctly. That is not to say that it is particularly difficult, just different. For someone who has installed scopes previously in standard design mounts (horizontally split rings..) it takes a little thought to get it right. If you take the time to lightly attach the rings to the scope before mounting to the bases, it all comes together much easier. These rings are machined and finished beautifully. The mating surfaces are smooth and offer plenty of surface area to hold the scope without slipping. The crossbars are machined to tolerance and fit closely into the Warne bases (a good reason to purchase the bases along with the rings..). I have used these mounts previously and have NEVER had a scope shoot loose up to .416 and .458. Properly installed these mounts are bulletproof. One item worth noting is the weight. These mounts are relatively heavy. You would not want to install these on a lightweight mountain rifle...probably. Where these mounts really show their value is on large, heavy recoiling rifles. And on those rifles, weight is not typically an issue. I currently have these mounts on two rifles. One is a custom .378 Wby that can really hurt you with recoil. The other is this Vanguard in .300 Wby. I wanted the extra margin of strength that is present in this mount and the result is rock solid. I don't think you can find a better quality mount even though it does take a little more effort to install correctly. ... show more

  • Best rings money can buy!
These are the most solid and tough rings you can buy for the money! I have 5 sets of them and none of them have failed or loosened up. They take a little getting used to as far as mounting but once u get the hang of it they are easy to set up. Absolutely the best bang for the buck! You will not be dissapointed. They obviously are a little heavier than aluminum. However, remember this tou get what you pay for and you will never have to worry that these rings are going to bust or break on you because they are solid steel. Tip: you should probably make sure you lapp the rings when u mount them for a precise fit. But you don't have too. ... show more

  • Warne Scope Mounts FTW (For the Win!)
Modest price for superior quality. Always gotta show love for manufacturers that make use proper hardware and even provide the torx key for the assembly. (high quality, you can actually use beyond the installation of a single scope, imagine that?! *smirk*, too bad their torque limiting t-handles aren't even half of the quality to match the rest of their product line...*sigh*) Hands down my favorite scope rings, rugged construction (solid, USA made baby!), excellent quality (counter bore hardware sit slightly below flush and have never failed to align with mating parts) and attention to detail (free of defects & burrs) Recommend? Absolutely. ;) ... show more

  • Great Rings.
Used these to mount a Nikon Prostaff 5 2.5-10x40 on top of a new Savage FCP-SR .308 rifle I bought. These rings are solid, I was unsure about them not being a round top ring and the top sticking above my low profile turrets but they don't. The rings are incredibly solid and don't move a bit, I really like the steel bar that is used to prevent the forward and aft movement when shooting. However they also lost one star due to the same steel bar, the bar while being solid for keeping it from moving is also not retained and is a bit of a pain in the back side to keep retained while mounting to the scope rail. All in all I would get them again as my only real complaint may be because I am used to cheaper scope rings that use the bottom set of screws to prevent movement. ... show more

  • Good value.
I like these better than other styles. I know they’re not everyone’s preference. No issues so far. Have several sets.

  • Warne mounts are as good as double cost LaRue
Warne mounts are as good as double cost LaRue. I have mic'd them and they are exactly identical front and back. No marks of the finish of my scopes. Better than lapped Tally. Warne are the only rings I would consider on big bore and muzzleloaders because I know, beyond the shadow of a doubt they hold tight. I have used these on a 376 Steyr for 232 rounds. That's a 270 gr bullet at 2510 FPS in a 9# rifle. That's 33 foot-pounds of recoil 3X the recoil of a 308. And I have zero movement or shift of POA. ... show more

  • Rings are awesome - company is even better
These rings are great. At first I wasn't sure if I would like the vertical ring alignment but I got over that. They are tricky to put together and get mounted but they are rock solid. They feel like they are built like a tank and are heavy (so mind that if you are looking for light weight). This company however is the best. I had a problem with mounts from them as well for a specific setup and called, the rep was super helpful and addressed my situation and got me back to the range in no time. That is the service you expect from an American company selling products made in America. Awesome. ... show more
