Imagine a sappy TV commercial for fabric softener or lemonade or life insurance. You're in the backyard. The sky is radiant blue. There's a kid on a tricycle, a glass of lemonade on a picnic table, and various family members talking and laughing in slow motion. A ray of sun bursts through the laundry that is drying on the clothesline and causes a charming lens flare on the camera. [Stick with me. I'm going somewhere with this, I promise.] Now... think closely about those bedsheets, blowing in the breeze. Get really specific in your imagination. Do those sheets look SILKY? Are they shiny and glossy? Do they look slippery? Nope. They just look like... linen. Or cotton. Crisp, clean, inviting. Those sheets you're picturing - they have a PERCALE weave, not sateen. For years I've been unhappy with the various bedsheets I've owned. Sheets are tricky bastards. I've been hoodwinked over and over. I go to the store, unzip a corner of the packaging, and shove my hand in as far as I can. I close my eyes and try to imagine lying on them. "Oooh, these are so silky and smooth! Oh my giggledy-goggledy-gosh! So soft! I just have to have them!" I giggle like a little girl and fling open my wallet. [SIDE NOTE: For what it's worth, I'm a long-haired straight dude who lives alone in an RV in the woods. But yes, I've been known to giggle.] I race home, wash the sheets, and dive headfirst into my newly made bed. Halfway through the first night, I'm already disappointed. They felt great for the first 2 minutes and then... something's just wrong. Sneaky sheet-bastards tricked me again! But how??? It took me until my 40s to figure it out. I don't want silky sheets. I don't want sateen. I just want sheets that feel like... sheets. I want PERCALE. I spent 20 years touring as an actor - countless nights in hotels. I always loved the feel of hotel sheets. Guess what? They're not sateen. They're PERCALE. Ninety-eight percent of the sheets I see in stores are sateen. I don't know why. PERCALE is the weave that feels like home, comfort, and rest. Say it with me... "Percale." One more time, a little louder... "Percale." Well done. I'm proud of you. As for this particular product by this particular company: California Design Den nailed it. The weight of these sheets is perfect. The fit is perfect. The elastic on the fitted sheet is robust and strong - the sheet stays put. The pillowcases don't fit my pillows quite right, but that's a reflection on my pillows, not the sheets. I love that the pillowcases have an envelope enclosure! The whole product feels like it will last. The price is terrific. PRO TIP: Buy plain white sheets. Trust me. (Remember those sheets you imagined in the TV commercial, blowing in the wind? What color were they?) It really adds to the clean, inviting, floating-off-to-sleep feel. I can't explain it. I've always bought dark-colored sheets before but I will never go back! Plus, you can bleach them if needed. So... Forget about thread count. Forget about "you need to spend 200 bucks to get a great set of sheets." Forget about silky, slippery, and shiny. Forget about "this amazing new micro-fiber bla-bla-bla blend." Forget about patterns and colors. Buy this great set of PERCALE sheets, made by a great company, in plain white, and GO. TO. SLEEP. Incredible sheets! Who would think sheets could make such a difference in sleep quality? After lengthy research I knew we wanted percale cotton and GOT or OKEO- TEX certified fabric. California Den has well deserved high ratings on many sites. We tried heavier cotton with high TC as well as microfiber sheets, both only exacerbated the night sweats and made it very difficult to move/turn over in bed. These sheets are crazy comfy, allow air movement/breathable, and appear to be made very well (stitching, fabric quality, elastic fitted...) Although an odor was present when out of package, one wash eliminated the odor and folding the sheets right out of dryer avoided wrinkles. Wrinkles are NOT an issue to me because the sheets are covered with a coverlet anyway. The bed makes up well, fabric is crisp, cool, yet very soft. Bonus with slightly larger pillow cases which have deep 'envelope flap' to keep pillows inside, accommodates larger standard foam pillow . At first I was concerned because price is so low - how good can these sheets be in comparison to other brands boasting high TC, pricey bamboo or Egyptian cotton, etc.? In this case price was not an indicator of quality! Very happy and highly recommend these sheets.

I just received these sheets and I am already very happy with my purchase. They feel great to the touch and the blue is a very pretty color. I especially like the strong elastic binding on the fitted sheet. It looks like it will hold up, unlike many other sheets that I have had had in the past when the elastic didn't hold up to stretching over the years. It is also plenty big enough to fit a thick mattress.Best of all it is a great price for organic cotton sheets!

Was very excited to test run a 300 thread count organic sheet set. They arrived yesterday and I washed and dried them today. These sheets have a lighter feel and thousands of microwrinkles. When I removed them from the dryer I noticed the pillowcases have a pillow flap and that the whole pillow border and flap had big wrinkles. I decided to iron them out and discovered one of the pillowcases had a hole--see the picture. The microwrinkles are not a big deal for me as I dont think theyre so significant that you need to iron the whole set. I ironed the pillowcases and the top border of the flat sheet and left the microwrinkles on the fitted and rest of the flat sheet. The fitted sheet also has a thicker elastic band than the other sheet sets I have used, fit my bed perfectly with some room on top to spare so my pillowtop isnt smashed flat by a tight fitted sheet. The fabric feels great, its lighter than others and perfect for hot sleepers, spring or summer, or just anytime anywhere that its hot. These sheets remind me of sheets used when I was young. I am planning to ask the seller to send me a new pillowcase and I am keeping this set. I am overall pleased with how it feels--pretty soft yet crisp. Just perfect! Ill update this review after I have slept in the sheets a few weeks. February 2024 Update: These are awesome sheets. Theyre organic and hard to beat the price. I love the lightness because i am a hot sleeper and these arent super soft but theyre not scratchy. I think will probabaly soften more as theyre washed--but I actually enjoy the crispness. I still think its a perfect blend of softness and crispness. I did receive the replacement pillowcases. I may try their other items, but theyre not organic cotton. I would prefer organic. Its not required, but just nice to have. Right now the 300 thread count only set that I am aware of thats organic.

these sheets beat the sheets ive bought from macys! they are really comfortable and cool. i like how the material feels because it feels like actual cotton instead of those weirdly soft microfiber ones. and the thick elastic stays, which is a plus for a cal king bed that is very hard to get sheets on. they do great in the wash and have not shown any signs of falling apart. i also always wash before use. overall, perfect summer sheets and ill be getting another set
