Description

WARN's AXON 45-S powersports winch is state-of-the-art with power and reliability in spades. Push the limits with big pulling power and the latest technology. The powerful 4,500 lb pulling capacity is ideal for big ATVs and Side x Sides. The revolutionary Motactor combines motor and contactor for the best performance and easy installation. Included is a 50' x 1/4" synthetic rope, hawse fairlead, and black hook, as well as a dash-mounted control switch, and a HUB wireless receiver. Digital control offers never-before-seen levels of performance and user feedback that includes load and temperature information. The durable, all-metal construction features black powder-coated finish for corrosion resistance and the waterproof sealing keeps the elements out. The new clutch design is based on the legendary WARN 4WD hub lock know- how. The three-stage planetary gear train is all-metal, smooth, and reliable, and the load-holding mechanical brake offers great control.

It took six months to bring myself to pay out the money for this winch. But... buy once cry once. The 4500 barely fit on my Pioneer 500, BUT it did. I've found that I have a lot more fun out on the trails knowing that now I can reliably pull myself out of about any mess I get into. The Warn works smoothly and is pretty quiet compared to the Harbor Freight winch I had before. Installation was easy (not quick, but I'm OCD). Getting one with synthetic rope is worth the extra money too. IMPORTANT! The switch is a proprietary "smart switch". The led turns colors if the winch gets close to full load, and again at max load. If you plan to use this on a side-by-side, the Axon 4500 comes with a panel mount switch AND a plug-in remote. The 3500 only comes with a handle bar mount switch. By the time you pay for the right style switch, you're close to the difference in price. *If anyone is wondering, I used a KFI winch mount and fairlead bracket. I'd buy em' again, no doubt. Check KFI's manufacturer cross reference to get the correct size of each. I did, and both were a perfect bolt-on match. ... show more

I ordered the Axon 35 with Spydura rope. They send me one with a cable. Cost me an extra $60 to replace the cable with braided spectra rope.

Winch is awesome very easy to wire. Have not put the winch to the test. I will update in the future. Installed on a 2018 Can Am X 3 MAX DS Turbo with a Can Am OEM Front Bumper Part number # 715002878. DOES NOT FIT. Front Bumper Mount has edge on the bracket that needs to be trimmed off to make fit. I took off about 6 inches and flush to the back plate to make work. WARN AXON 45-RS Powersports Winch. DOES NOT FIT. Winch mount holes are smaller on the RS model because of the smaller spool of rope (26.5). I tried doing my home work before the purchase nothing was posted on any reviews or You Tube. Fits nicely now. Works great, wasn't that hard. You need to get custom battery cables made. No kit has 13 feet of cable in the box. Warn recommends directly to the battery. Fast Shipping came a day early. The project started by getting the (Amazon) Honda Rincon 650 & 680 KFI Winch Mount, fits my Honda 2006 TRX680. I did not use the front mounting U bolts Bolts to hold the plate interfered with the winch setting down flush, I used only the supplied back bolts. No problem, later I may countersink modified U supports. The bolt pattern fits the WARN AXON 35-S good. I was concern the winch would block air flow to the ATV radiator, this turned out not to be an issue. The winch looks big in the picture as it turns out it fits perfect other then the mounting plate U bolts. Wiring was straight forward. I used my ATV 12 volt power outlet adapter to power the red control wire so I did not need to splice into any wires for the power "On" circuit. I could not figure out what the two black rubber protectors fit on. My battery did not need them and they would not fit on the WARN Winch motor power cables terminals. No big deal. Its Warn so I have full faith it'll be a long lasting reliable winch. It arrived fast and at the time I bought it the price was well below what I found on Warn's website. Lowest price I could find anywhere so A++ for that. Also in case any of you are looking at this for a Kawasaki KRX 1000 like I was, I DO NOT recommend trying to put it in the factory recommended location down in front of the differential. I saw pictures of someone with it down there online, but I have no idea how they got it in there. This thing is a chunky boi and I could not get it even close to fitting. I ended up getting a HMF Defender series bumper with the winch mount and would highly recommend mounting it that way for any fellow KRX owners. The winch is great, but is was fun to install. First of all, I was disappointed that the winch I received was from 3-18-19 (over 4 years old). I'm sure there were improvements made during the 4 year period. I haven't had a chance to really test the winch, but it was working with the switch and HUB app on my phone. The square design made the install interesting, it didn't leave enough room to properly mount to winch. I ended up having to purchase longer stainless bolts and had to use washers to stand off the nut far enough to fit between the winch and the mounting plate. Once I picked up the longer 8MM Stainless bolts and washers and ran my cables, the install wasn't too bad. I still have to dress up my cables, but I'm hoping the worst is behind me. My old Pro Vantage Winch would eventually stop pulling the plow back up and I think the issue was with the Warn Solenoid. The Axon winch doesn't use a solenoid, so I'm really hoping I won't run into the issue anymore. I might end up using my Pro Vantange 3500 winch on the back of my Bombardier Outlander XT, it should work good enough for that. ... show more
