I gave it 4 stars, but I'd probably rather rate it 3.5 realistically. It's a large dresser for $350 but the quality of the wood reflects the price. Looking at it straight on, you can see that the drawers aren't exactly even and have gaps between them, which drives me nuts, but if you're standing above it you can't really tell. The color is nice. I put it together by myself, but it was tedious, took a few hours and now my hands have some blisters from all the screws I had to put in. Overall, happy with it. ... show more

This dresser 100% unassembled and took several hours to assemble, with two people (one of us is a skilled handy man!) managing the assembly. A power drill was required, as none of the holes were pre-drilled in this piece of furniture. The drawers stick a little bit when sliding open and closed, but hopefully the application of some beeswax on the sliders will fix that problem. Once built, this is an attractive piece of furniture, and I’m hoping it stands the test of time…! ... show more

Was this a huge pain in the butt to build? Absolutely. But was it worth it? In my opinion yes. If you don’t have much experience building furniture, this could be a real big struggle. It doesn’t have pre drilled holes, so I used an electric screwdriver to at least start with the nail to get it in the wood and then finished it up with a manual screwdriver so it didn’t crack or go through the wood. Directions were easy to follow. Despite the annoying build, this dresser is just what I was looking for. The wood is beautiful and the color is perfect. The size is on the smaller end for what we had in the room before, but it’s a welcomed change because we have it in a smaller room. The drawers open and close easily despite having wood sliders and not metal ones. ... show more

When I first received the package for the dresser, it contained a baby crib! It was returned and I ordered the dresser again. The second package was finally the dresser. It was packaged well but there were a couple of small gauges in the drawer fronts. The dresser is made of solid wood so it is quite sturdy and heavy. It took several hours to assemble it properly because I took the time to glue almost all of the pieces, but after it was finished it was very sturdy and looked good, especially for the price. I also bought two matching nightstands which also looked good even though they were much smaller than I thought they would be. Every single review with a picture is boasting. Do not believe anyone who says this was easy to assemble. I assembled this dresser by myself with just a screwdriver and a hammer and it took me 7 hours. First of all, this thing comes in a heavy box that is filled with wooden planks. Absolutely nothing is pre-assembled, so you will have to fasten all the screws manually. The kicker: the wood planks do not have pre-drilled holes, so I had to use full force to squeeze drills into their respective un-drilled planks using a handheld Phillips head screwdriver. In retrospect, I should have used a power drill — the manual said not to, so I didn’t. A bit about the wood — these panels are not made of solid wood. They are much thinner (approx. 2-in) strips that have been glued together and cleverly stained to look continuous from a distance. So, if you are screwing into a point where two planks meet using a screwdriver (don’t), you’ll have to plunge your entire body weight into the tip of the screwdriver while twisting clockwise just to get the screw to catch. I would absolutely not recommend that you assemble this yourself unless you are incredibly patient and frankly masochistic. Two things I would have changed: get someone to help out, use power tools. ... show more

Man, building this dresser felt like a punishment. EVERYTHING had to be assembled and using an electric drill was not suggested. I’m all blistered up and I had to take a break after nailing the backing to the front of the dresser. Awful, just awful. Thankfully this is real wood instead of MDF so I’ll be able to cover the tiny nail holes with wood filler but after spending close to $400 it definitely made me mad. There is not easy gliding drawer system since everything is wood but it is a beautiful dresser and I love it very much in my son’s room but find someone to assemble this with you. I don’t ever want to assemble another big piece of furniture like this dresser! ... show more

This item is gorgeous in person. The drawers have a weird cheap dowel system to keep them on track. I’m using this dresser for myself, which means I will be careful when opening, but had this been purchased for my husband or kids, it would be broken by now… if you’re conscious of its flimsy drawers, it is worth it. But if you’re hard on things, I would not recommend. It is definitely a lightweight dresser. I also put coasters on mine as I’m worried any liquid could ruin the wood. ... show more
