My daughter is an avid gardener on a small city lot. She has 2 compost barrels which are really tough to aerate so for her birthday I went shopping for a compost turner. I couldn’t find the auger type that I prefer and I don’t like the purpose-built compost stirring gizmos on Amazon but then I stumbled across this particular weeder that had positive reviews from composters. I had reservations but she loves it! It is quite sturdy, the paint seems like it will last a long time and she loves that she can also weed with it. I’m over 6 ft tall and for weeding the handle would be too short for me but for compost barrels it is perfect and she is 5’ 4” tall and loves the handle length for weeding- SCORE on this year’s birthday present for daughter!! Update: Added photos showing how it digs up blackberry roots deep in ground. About to plant some bushes and wanted to remove as much unwanted roots and weeds and did a fine job of it. ----- Never thought I'd use this to dig a hole prior to digging with a shovel. It became one of my favorite garden tools digging into grass to plant a trees or bushes. I even dog up some buried blackberry roots yesterday. The size and the weight are just right to do the hard work. The handle is large enough to grab and twist to dislodge several buried blackberry roots out of the ground. So this works as it should. The tools included for assembly don’t quite work. The two “wrenches” that were included for assembly, the side for the larger nut was too large so it just slipped off of it. The nuts have rubber in them making them extremely hard to screw on. On top of that once you’re done with assembly you have two large bolts sticking out of the side because the bolts are too long. It’s still functional. I was able to till up an area of grass for a flower bed. You have to put in some muscle while using. Overall a good tool to have if you can’t afford an electric tiller. ... show more

I had a garden weezle years ago and it was the easiest thing I had ever used. I plowed up my entire garden with one of those things. This is not the same thing!!!! This is very hard to use on untilled dirt or dirt with grass. I do not recommend unless you want to put some hard work in to it. Nice sturdy tool but that is all. ... show more

Worked well to help me break up the soil and remove some weeds in my front beds. The only thing is that the two cheap disposable wrenches they include for assembly purposes were not at all the same size as the included nuts and bolts. Now I have my own wrenches and sockets so I was fine, but tbh I don't even know why companies do this. It seems so wasteful. Just tell me the tools I'll need to assemble it in the description, don't send me useless garbage. ... show more
