We live in FL. We have “winter temperatures” maybe for 2 months or so. We also live in a house with a fireplace- why I’m not sure. We bought this to put inside our fireplace, rather than turning the heater on during the day. It works perfectly- and heats the whole room very well! The heater is 1350 watts and 4600 BTU, so it is not the most powerful heater, but that is kind of what small fires are like anyway, and you are not losing heat up the chimney. The Waleaf is of the low hear blower type. It won't heat up a room super fast, but it will get a small room warm within about a half hour. It is hot 2 inches from the blower, warm from any other distance. The blower is about as loud as you would expect from any space heater. Zone Heating is a simple way to save money. In many homes, certain rooms, like bedrooms, dens, and basements, are unused much of the day, and don't need to be as warm at those times. With zone heating, you can use electric heat to warm up the rooms you are using, and shut off heated air blown in different sections, or zones, so unoccupied space isn't heated. Turning down your thermostat by 10 to 15 degrees for 8 hours a day can bring you significant savings. ... show more

Product looks nice in my fireplace but I wish it heated my room better it just don't feel warm. You can feel hest when you put your hand close but I want it to blow out.

    • Basic electric fireplace
Fireplace was so easy to set up. Literally all you have to do is take it out of the box, put it in place, and plug it in. It looks nice and a nice feature is that you can operate it without the heater running, so it will be useful in the summer too. I think that you can spend a little more to get a nicer fireplace, but this was the only one I could find that fits. One other important thing - verify that your electric outlet can carry the current (amps) that are used on that circuit. We have to turn off the fireplace in order to use the microwave, just as with any other 1500 watt heater. It would be nice to have a second 750 watt setting. The air output is up at a 45 degree angle so you can't have the warm air blowing directly on you. Overall we like it and get compliments on it often. Good value for the money. ... show more
