Our parking courtyard is rather large and as we live in a rural area there are no lights anywhere. We were looking for a great light that was electric powered to illuminate the courtyard. Surprisingly we ran across this WaitScher Light which was solar so choosing this one was a cinch. This is a HUGE light and is designed to light up brilliantly a rather large area. Installation was easy. You can either mount it to a pole or onto a structure with ease. We chose to mount this light on a pole which was already existing. It puts out an amazing 200,000 lumens and has 3 lighting modes to choose from. #1 is dusk to dawn #2 is once motion is detected you will get full lighting for approximately 30 seconds and then it dims back down to 30% output and #3 allows you to choose the perfect setting for your needs. My one complaint regarding motion lighting is that I would rather see that when motion is detected the lighting will come on full power and then go back to zero light. All functions can be controlled by the included remote control and you can also download an app to control the lighting from your phone or mobile device. This light has worked out exceptionally well for us and provided our courtyard with some much needed illumination.

I like that it has a fake security camera light to help deter any intruders from afar. One of the main reasons I haven’t installed a motion light for my garage is because I don’t want to have to wire the power outlets to the outside. Because this is solar powered, I don’t have that issue with this one. Despite being solar powered, the light is surprisingly very bright and at least gives me a good piece of mind in knowing if there’s a motion in my driveway. A good value for the price and works well for my purposes.

Let's start with the positive – the dummy camera aspect. The design is well-executed, giving off a convincing appearance that could potentially deter unwanted visitors. They effectively light up the surrounding area when triggered by motion, serving their purpose adequately. This is super easy to install. It's bright and I keep it installed on my roof over the garage so that if someone comes near my car the light is illuminated. The sensor works great and the lights are bright. I think it acts as a deterrent and that is the # 1 reason to buy it. It also looks as if there is a camera installed with it, but there is not. I would say for the very small amount of effort it takes to install this, it's worth every second and every penny.

We have two black dogs and we cannot see them in the backyard when we let them out during the night. We put two of these lights up, positioned along the back fence, right in the middle, pointing in opposite directions, and they light up the whole yard. The sensors catch their movement quickly, and the lights turn back off after 20 seconds or so of no motion. One thing we had to take into account is that they are SO bright, we had to angle them down a bit so they didn't shine into our or our neighbors' windows. They were easy to install. You'll want to let them get a day's worth of sun first before setting them up. We were able to use hammers to push the spikes into the dirt with little problem.

If you’re looking for an easy to install self powered (solar) motion detection security light, then this is the one you’re looking for. It has multiple installation options, comes with all of the necessary hardware for installation, and appears to be well sealed from the elements. It can mount on the side of a building or structure such as a fence and point down, or be mounted on the ground and pointed up. The detection sensitivity is good so it should easily detect moving objects and illuminate them for easy visibility in the dark. Once the motion is detected the light stays on for approximately 30 seconds then turns off and waits for the next event. The instructions are very clear. The light is very bright and covers a fairly wide range. Since it is Solar rechargeable with an internal battery it will have to be positioned where there is ample sunlight to charge it for a large portion of the day especially if it’s used in a high traffic area where it will turn on and off frequently. It is an intermittent light so it will not stay on constantly so keep that in mind for your application. Overall this is nice simple unit if you’re looking to illuminate a dark area without having to run power wires.
