Perfect for gardens

Last year I designed a Japanese garden and put what was purported to be "the best weed guard" down before laying the rock. But, not only did grass, weeds and sprigs of privet still pop through, the "best weed guard" frayed terribly and had to be replaced around the edges. This summer I made another Japanese garden and used this product under the rock; NOTHING has penetrated it. This weed guard is the best I've ever used. Despite its thickness it's easy to cut and lay out, stays in place once it's laid and it's very durable. I used the pins that were included and they went through the fabric with very little difficulty. I'm making a rock-bordered walkway with a mulch base in the spring, and this will be the weed guard I'll use. NOTE: I would NOT recommend it for use in a flower or vegetable garden unless it's only used between the rows and not around the base of the plants.

Out of many choices of landscape fabric on Amazon I ended up buying this brand. I am happy with the quality, it is thick and cuts well. It appears to be a two layer design and seems like it will be durable.

I used this to make a clean barrier against weeds, one roll was enough to do a 7x14 deck with a bunch extra. I probably overlapped more than I needed to and possibly used less, but the grass and weeds here are aggressive so why chance it? The material isn’t heavy, but it’s durable enough. It didn’t tear from me walking and working on it while I built the deck above. The weed mat isn’t generally something that’s left exposed anyway, but it seems like it will last a long time. It’s only been a month since I’ve built the deck, but not a single weed has come through. I’m very satisfied with this product. I didn’t want to spend a lot and it worked great.
