  • GREAT TOOL, Works with ports and adapters
Size: 13"
FIRST! CABLES AND ADAPTERS! Considering that this can become the most important issue, here's the scoop: It is intended to plug into a computer with 1. Mini-Display port and USB port (MAC) or 2. USB C port and USB port (PC) - Two plugs go into the computer to activate the display - Two plugs go into the device (one USB C into the left side and one USB C looking power cable on the right) ADAPTER USE: On a PC, I used a 'mini display to hdmi adapter' and it worked On a PC, I also used a 'mini display to DisplayPort adapter' and it worked - I didn't need any adapters on my iMac CAUTION: I originally bought the Wacom 13"HD. This did NOT include a cable for mini-display, it has an HDMI cable. NO ADAPTER would work. I tried a 90.00 adapter to go HDMI to mini-display, and it wouldn't work. As an illustrator, I only need three things in a drawing tablet: 1. Sensitivity 2. Cooperation 3. The damn thing plug in and works properly I have all three with this device SESITIVITY PROS - The pressure sensitivity is classic Wacom. It's not in the way, and once I get rolling, I don't think about it. SESITIVITY CONS - I am a cross hatcher in the classic Jack Davis/MAD Magazine style. I have never found that digital has ever given me the accuracy and line expression that pen and ink does. It's one of the only drawbacks that I contend with on a drawing tablet. COOPERATION PROS - No real fuss when resting my hand on the display - The display is bright, clear, colorful, and very comfortable on my eyes. It's easy to clean. - The entire device is light and easy to maneuver. It's easy to store and feels like an ideal size. It's not a giant clod of technology either, it fits among my other desktop crap (mouse, keyboard, notes, etc) pretty comfortably. - The cables are easy to hide. COOPERATION CONS - The tablet needs to be plugged in on both sides. It's like having antenna wires that roll back. I haven't found it to be a problem, but it feels like a bad choice in product design. If you already have a lot of cables stuffed behind your monitor, these add to it. - There are two small retractable legs that pop out, elevating the tablet about 20 degrees off the desktop. It's almost the right height, but not quite enough. The legs pop out of the back by pressing in and releasing, and this is quite well done. There is a stand that you can buy, but it feels pretty low-brow. DAMN THING WORKS PROS - This is the idea solution "IF" you have the right computer. I have an iMac with the mini display and USB ports. The cables that come with this device are designed for this. After plugging in everything, I turned on the display and WHAMMO! off we go. - I also hooked this up to a PC. I don't have USB C ports, so I used a 'mini-display to DisplayPort' adapter and it worked fine. - The Wacom software took care of updates and registration quickly and easily. DAMN THING WORKS CONS - Din't have any, so none to report. ... show more

  • Quite works, never reliable
Size: 13"
I tried a couple of Wacom tablets for the past months (including screenless Intuos, older 13HD with Touch and etc.) This one finally works nice...not without problems though. PROS - Really bright, very colorful screen (I was surprised when I tried older 13HD model with a very dim screen and washed colors) - Design is very slick - The surface of the tablet is the best I found so far in Wacom hardware - Stand is finally integrated into tablet - Finger touch. Nice to have (even if it works weird) - Buttons are cool, much better than the old ones (though there are no ExpressKeys there are buttons to control vital functions on top) - SD card slot on the side! That's really helpful when you're a photographer - 3 USB-C ports make it easier to manage the cables and potentially connect hardware! - Cables! The connection is much more robust than the older weird connector that was cracking after 1-2 years of usage. It's also nice to have ability to connect power on the opposite side of the tablet. CONS - Cables! You have to use at least 2 cables, one for the power and one for USB. I'm using 4! Two cables described above + Wacom Link + Mini-DP to DP cable + USB-C to USB cable. I don't have fancy USB-C hardware (even if I had it would've been two separate cables anyway). The other problem with the cables is described as well by the reviewers here. Not every MiniDP cable would work. I tried 3 and only one of them worked in the end. It's a hit or miss, I guess I was lucky (Wacom was lucky too) or in other case I would've returned the tablet back. - Cables! Did I say it? I'll say it again. It's a small 13" tablet with lots of thick cables running out all over the table - No Express Keys or a ring, you have to buy it separately and put it on the top of the 13" tablet - Drivers. Wacom Drivers are hit or miss as well. When they publish new version of their drivers it improves one part of the experience while ruining the other part. I updated yesterday and finger touch became unpredicted. - Wacom Support. There's no support, period. They say that they provide support but when you really have to deal with it it takes months for them to answer. Phone support is not much of a help either. Also there are usually no manuals and you have to play a young explorer that just landed on the Moon. And if there are they are usually outdated. - Price. It's quite overpriced for the experience you get. There's a competition out there SUGGESTIONS - (Rather a wish) I wish it had Wireless connectivity. Especially when you have a separate cable for display. In a perfect world I would love to connect it the same way new Intuos connects via the Bluetooth. UPDATE: I downgraded my rating to 1 star. The software drivers get worse and worse: - My Mac never sleeps when the tablet's display is on - When I turn tablet on and off the Touch parts gets randomly turned on or off - When tablet's display is on it can freeze my Mac after sleep so I have to restart - After restart it randomly turns on and off its features - After every new drivers update the features (like Touch, Display, Screen Area) receive random settings I googled forums about my problems, they never get fixed. Wacom, what's going on? ... show more

  • Beware of the "bad" reviews
Size: 13"
This is my first display tablet, decided I'd get one after using the CTH 480 for years. I've got to say this thing works like a charm. I was skeptical at first because of all the "bad" reviews, but upon closer inspection those reviews were mainly because people had adapter problems. For PC users, you're going to need a mini display port or regular sized display port. I had to buy a display port to mini display port adapter, but that only costed $8. A lot of people seemed to buy the pro 13 without researching adapters beforehand and then complaining about it on the reviews corner here. After about a week of use, I can say I've gotten pretty comfortable with it. I started out drawing flat on my desk, but then transitioned to using the angled stand as it felt really comfortable. The tablet also functions as a second monitor which is really nice. There is no input lag as far as I can tell, but it might be dependent on how powerful of a pc you have. I recently built mine for gaming so that might've helped. One thing though it that it uses a lot of different cables (for input, power, output), so it takes up a bit of desk space. The colors of the newer 13 model match what I see on my computer screen unlike the 13hd. Overall I'm glad I decided to go forth with this purchase, it's made digital drawing much easier ! ... show more
