I wanted to do the dash trim in my CLA 250 in dry carbon. None of the wrap businesses in this area would take on a job this small, so I knew I'd have to do it myself. My first try, I threw up my hands in frustration, deciding it was impossible. But I started watching videos on YouTube on how to do vinyl wrapping and went at it again. After a couple of practice sessions, I started the job for real. It took about 90 minutes and lots of patient working with the vinyl--a kiss of heat here from the heat gun, a pull and stretch there, and on and on--but in the end: success.

I had originally purchased some "china" vinyl from ebay for half the price of this and attempted to wrap my center console with it. After watching hours of youtube videos about vinyl wrapping technique I thought I was confident enough to do a good job. I worked for hours on 3 somewhat small pieces and the outcome was AWFUL! I wrapped and rewrapped the pieces so many times thinking I was doing things wrong. So I went back to the drawing board and did more research on vinyl products by each manufacturer. I had considered buying Avery however Vvivid has excellent reviews and a lot of them said they were novice friendly. So I decided to go with this product. After working with the "china" vinyl I can say that it is a night and day difference. Not only does it feel different but it stretches with and without heat differently. This was IMMENSELY easy to work with compared to the other stuff I used. The glue is 100x better as well.I would say it took me roughly 4 hours to do the 3 pieces since 1 of them is a complicated shape with WAY to many small circles in it. I've showed my work to a number of people and they all think that it's a factory option so I must have done a good job. I have no idea how well this product works for pieces that are exposed to weather however for interior pieces this is an awesome product.

Great product and good price. I have never worked with vinyl wrap before but I have done vinyl graphics. Overall I think this stuff is pretty easy to work with as long as you use the proper tools and have patience. A heat gun, a good razor and felt tip squeegee is all you really need for small interior trim jobs. You may need some other tools for bigger exterior jobs. The thing with designs like carbon fiber is that you need to keep the pattern in tact and not stretch too much or the wrong direction. Overall my small interior trim job came out pretty good on my ram center console and dash. Taking parts off to do them is much easier than trying to do while still on the car but it is doable on the car. I made a couple small mistakes but that was my error, not the product. Overall it looks and feels great. Save any decent sized pieces that you cut off and put it back on the application paper so you can use it elsewhere. I recommend this product and brand.

I purchased the VVIVID XPO Vinyl to wrap the trunk of my 2015 WRX. Overall I was very pleased with the item. I am inclined to think most of my problems came from user error other then product failure. That being said, Below is my breakdown based on what I was looking for in the product; Packaging/Shipping: The vinyl came within two days in a full roll. I know there were some concerns for the sheet coming folded. This was not the case and the roll was crease-less. Open the box for the first time outdoors however. The bottled up vinyl smell is a bit strong when the product is first opened up. Product Quality: My first thought was "Wow this is more stiff then I expected". Most of this stiffness is due to the backing paper. The carbon fiber is more of a raw texture giving it a matte finish. It still has a great look, just not as glossy as real carbon fiber parts. This is all a look preference though. I think it looks better with less gloss. Ease of Use/Installation: This is a mixed bag for me. If one has a smooth, semi flat to flat surface, then installation is a breeze. I started on the top of my trunk and that was a quick as anything to install. The vinyl is super forgiving and very easy to push bubbles through. My trouble come with the turn down to the back side of the trunk. The vinyl is nice in that it is heat activated. This allows one to pull up and re-position many times with no issues. I had to pull up and place the back a few times and one of them used too much force. This resulted in a tear in the vinyl. At this point I had to scrap the back of the trunk and just do the top. Like I said, this tear was most likely my own error. Overall, I thought it was very easy to use if one is patient with it. Durability: The installation was about 4 weeks ago and the product is holding up just like the day I installed it. Some bubbles will appear days after the install as it is baking in the sun. All one needs to do is rub them and the air release tech will do the rest. Overall: Really great product. I actually plan on purchasing more to wrap my roof and hood. Looks great from any angle. I have had a few people ask about it already because it looks so good. Five stars based on the fact that I was a complete beginner and was still able to do a professional looking job. Great for first time users of vinyl wrap!
