Applied to the exterior of my windows - it's much easier that way and won't screw up your tint if you ever decide to remove it. Patience and forethought are the keys to installation - it's about as difficult as working with regular vinyl wrap. If you have wrinkles in the vinyl from shipping, just hit that area with low heat from a heat gun after the backing paper is removed, before laying it down, and the vinyl will smooth out. Any darkness is legal on the back windows of trucks, vans, and SUVs in my state. It looks good, and you absolutely cannot see into the windows unless you put your face right onto the glass. I will say I got the vinyl up on my van. It’s not perfect, there are wrinkles, but why sweat the cosmetic stuff when the manufacturer doesn’t? I have a few problems with this product, some will likely exist with any version, but finishing this task was a miracle. 1) packaging: removing the plastic just to get to the product was excruciating. Then the vinyl is mega glued to the tube it’s rolled around, not fun to release. 2) the backing has you fighting the curl, forcing you to ‘cowboy’ this til the backing is finally off and you can now just deal with the uncooperative sticky. 3) as I’m installing it I see some yahoo at the factory taped apparently random places. As this product rips easily I don’t dare try to remove the tape, lest I screw this up even more. WHO DECIDED THE CUSTOMER HAS TO BE OK WITH TAPE ON THEIR WINDOWS?? JERKS! 4) and the only reason it got two stars - they screwed up again, in my favor this time. What was touted as 4x5 feet was closer to 5x5 feet, the excess gave me the wiggle room I needed to fully cover my windows. I do not recommend this product, will never order again from this manufacturer. I’m olde skool, I recall the concepts of quality and paying attention to details so the customer gets what they actually ordered, and it’s user friendly with no nasty surprises. ... show more

I operate a forklift all day that has a glass ceiling. The sun in summertime really beats down. I purchased this to reduce the sunlight, and still leave visibility so I can see my mast extended. It's works great. It was fairly easy to install and looks great. My co-workers were very impressed by it. One asked me to install it for him when he purchases his.     • Just what I needed

Bought this for my home windows hoping it would cut the heat transfer and it does exactly that. I applied it on the outside of the windows and it seems to be working great. The secret to applying anything like this is the same as applying any type of decal. Cut to size and then peel back only a small part (approx 1 inch) of the backing paper. Place the peeled edge of the window film on the window at the top and use a plastic squeegee to smooth out the film. Slowly peel more of the backing away and only work a small section of the film at a time until you get it fully applied. You can pull the film back up and adjust it if you need before you squeegee it. Take your time. ... show more
