LOZ amiibos and Breath of the Wild Functions.
Color: Zelda
Edition: USA
Legend of Zelda amiibos are getting expensive I mean REALLY expensive. So you need to ask yourself do you really want it on your shelf and the Breath of the Wild Functions each provides? I want to help you answer that. Main in game functions I will mention is Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. (Though keep in mind some work with Smash, Twilight Princess HD, and Hyrule Warriors.) They will be organized into groups by their main drop. *Sword Group* - Travelors sword - Royal Sword and elemental arrows. (Smash Link/TP Link) The 2 work the same. Unique set: Twilight Princess skins. Epona appears on 1st scan. She's a contender for best horse. She sprints for more strides and the gentle temperament won't throw you off. Extras:Produce,Elemental arrows, shields Smash Link is a poor quality figurine while TP Link is one of the highest. (Skyward Sword Link) Unique: Skward Sword skins Goddess Sword. Forgettable Extras: rupees, shields High quality figurine (Breath of the Wild Link Rider) Unique: special horse saddle Extras:Produce High detail figurine. (8-bit Link) Unique:Legend of Zelda skins Sword. Nothing to go out of your way to aquire. Extras: Rupees, shields For the nostaligia collector. (Smash Toon Link/LOZ 30 anniversary Toon Link) Unique: Windwaker skins Seabreeze boomerang. I personally use boomerangs as melee weapons in Breath. The jury's out on this one. Extras:Fish Figures are good quality. *Bow Group* Travelors bow-royal bow (Smash Princess Zelda) Unique: Twilight Bow. This one rocks. Best bow by range. Literal sniper. Uses light arrows not your arrow supply. Has around a hundred shots before it goes. Not the most powerful but that range is second to none. Extras:gems, flowers, herbs Good quality figurine. Dress well done (Breath of the Wild Archer Link) Unique: none. May drop Falcon Bow but that's not exclusive Extras: elemental arrors, meat, fish Very High quality figurine. *Shield Group* Travelors shield-royal shield (Too Zelda) Unique: Heros Shield. Rendered useless by Hylian Shield. Extras: herbs, flowers, gems Figurine is ok it's good for what it is depicting (Breath of the Wild Zelda) Unique: none, source for radiant shield. Rendered pointless by Hylian Shield. Extras:herbs, flowers, gems Good figurine hard to find. *2 Handed Sword Group* Travelors claymore- Royal claymore (OoT Link) Unique: OoT skins, Biggoron sword. Not worth the trouble to get. Extras: meat, elemental arrows Figurine based on OoT artwork ok not great eyes look weird. (Smash Ganondorf) Unique: Sword of the Six Sages. Not worth it to go out of your way. Extras: rupees, gems, rare monster parts (unique to this Amiibo but you can farm all monster parts in game) Great quality figurine. Only Ganon we have so far for collectors. One of the more affordable amiibos. (Majora's Mask Link) Unique: Fierce Deity skins and sword. Functions the same as the in game barbarian set. Looks cooler but like barbarian set requires lyanel farming to upgrade. Extras: produce, elemental arrows High quality figurine. This one is expensive and getting worse...High demand by Zelda collectors. *Unique* they are all different. (Breath of the Wild Guardian) Unique: Source of guardian - guardian ++ equipment weapons and shields. Source of ancient and giant ancient (rare) cores. Source of ancient arrows. Source of ancient parts. This is the best Amiibo for in game use. If you only get one this is the one to get. Extras: gems Highest quality figure. Top 5 of best Amiibo design. Looks great. Expensive and getting worse. Approaching $50... (Breath of the Wild Bokoblin) Unique:none. In game use for this guy is at zero. Boko weapons are everywhere in game as is meat. If I had him I wouldn't bother to scan him. High quality figurine. Fairly rare in stores. (Smash Sheik) Unique: sheik's mask. Essentially an additional head skin working in the stealth clothes set. Source of Sheika weapons (outclassed by midgame) and elemental arrows. Extras: mushrooms *Champions Ballad set* All 4 may drop diamonds. Each has a unique helmet that pairs with the ancient armor set and each weapon drops corresponds to their race. Figures are of the highest quality. They are still in stores but buy fast. Happy Hunting.

Even if hard to find for "reasonable" prices, a beautiful Amiibo, a great figurine, and a worthy Amiibo to port into Xenoblade
Color: Shulk
Edition: Japan
Simply to share, as my bias surely affects my best intentions of a helpful review, I avoided purchasing any Amiibo figures until very shortly after the most present release of Series 4. That shared, due to a New 3DS mishap at a big box retailer, I was given store credit and with it, brought home my first 4 Amiibo (Series 1 Link and Zelda; Series 2 Toon Link and Sheik). After having these 4 Amiibo to experiment with, it was only after I truly made my first two Amiibo purchases (dare I say, invested), Series 1 Marth and this figure, Series 2 Shulk. I could not find the U.S. release of Shulk at a price that competed with the Japanese release. After reading another review elsewhere, and realizing it doesn’t matter whether one has the U.S. or Japanese Amiibo release in terms of being able to port into Wii U and New 3DS XL games, I jumped at the opportunity to purchase Shulk. My purchase of this Amiibo was wholly due to the excitement I have had in experiencing the gameplay of Xenoblade Chronicles for the New 3DS. I missed the game first time ‘round (on the Wii), and have been quite expectant of a great game experience. I have not been let down, neither by the game, nor with this particular Amiibo figure. As this is a review of Shulk, the Amiibo figure, let me focus there on a number of points I hope will help you, the potential buyer of this out-of-print and increasingly hard to find figurine: As other reviewers before me have stated, comparatively this is a very well sculpted Amiibo figurine: Shulk’s face is expressive, his clothing and wardrobe in general is detailed and nicely painted (between the lines!), and his hair looks (just about) as good as it does in the game (LOL)! In terms of the actual sculpted figure, as with the other sword-wielding Amiibo I have, Shulk’s Monado sword is not perfectly straight, but bows slightly. Why is this? I do not know. Perhaps it has something to do with the heating and cooling process of manufacturing? Regardless, the materials (plastics) this Amiibo is cast in allows for the sword to be slightly misshaped. While this doesn’t bother me or affect my enjoyment of the figure, I can see more scrutinizing collectors of toys and figures to be irked by this oversight in the perfecting of manufacturing. Some Amiibo have colored or clear plastic supports extending from the base to the figure itself. Such is the case with Shulk and at first, from my perspective, it looks a bit odd, but after having ported Shulk into the new Xenoblade Chronicles for the New 3DS, I don’t mind as much. This is hugely subjective and the photographs supplied by Amazon and myself (along with other reviewers) will hopefully aid in clarifying for you if this is something you care about or not. Rough dimensions for this Shulk figure, from base to top of his head, is nearly 4-inches; from widest point to widest point (sword tip to extended opposite hand) is 3-inches. Regarding gameplay, the Japanese import has ported just as any other Amiibo has on my New 3DS. I would expect the same from others, especially with so many reports consistently claiming this is in fact the case. If it is not clear by now, I’m a collector of things, especially that which relates to Nintendo. Most of us seemingly having missed out on the U.S. release, is it worth it to purchase this Shulk Amiibo for 2x-6x the MSRP? I cannot answer that for you, obviously, but having ported Shulk into Xenoblade Chronicles, if you decide to make the purchase, I hope your experience is as much fun as mine has been! Happy gaming and happy collecting!

But the product itself is good. For those who are looking to get these ...
Color: Ike
Edition: USA
--Amiibo full in depth review-- For starters, I am giving each an all the amiibo's in this list the same review as most all have the same function. I have given it a 4 stars because it would be 3 stars due to the price on most. But the product itself is good. For those who are looking to get these amiibo's, wait a little bit. They should come back in stock eventually as it has been promised. So buy out the other one's on the list that are more available to have at this point. From the product design, it's a knock off design from the characters trophy that you get from finishing classic mode. Most are pretty decent crafted and pretty appealing to look at. Now for the in depth product usage review for those who are unsure to how they work. And to those who do know, you might learn something. Going in order of how they are used: -All amiibo's are not and I mean NOT region locked. This allows you to play with a Japanese, European/Australian, USA made amiibo on any console. This can help you find better prices. for amiibo's if you so want them badly now. -Registering the amiibo's is extremely easy to use and the wii u gamepad will quickly recognize the amiibo on the character selection screen on smash modes. You don't even have to touch, it will recognize it that fast. -You can feed it equipment stuff to boost the speed, power, and defense stats like a custom character. But if you are wanting them for training purposes like myself, then this would be better not done. -They start out at level 1 and will cap at level 50. Leveling is easy to do, just have them fight against a cpu's for a bit. Set the timed match to an hour or 99 minutes or the stock to 30 or higher. This allows for the match to go for long periods, and allows them to level up continuously. They also gain levels for finishing matches, so it's not best to level from the longest match possible always. But after they reach level 50 is when they are more usable for your training. They are better than a level 9 will ever get. on the level scale, they are more like level 13-15. But they also learn and change up move usage after a bit of playing against them. -Saving amiibo data is easy. Back out of the character selection (DO NOT TURN GAME OFF) and the game may ask you to tweak your amiibo. It will only ask that if you used 1 amiibo. Tweaking is just feeding it equipment stuff, which for training purposes is pointless. After that it will pop up with saying put the amiibo on the game pad and hold it there. This only takes a second just to transfer data. If you used more than 1 amiibo, it won't say will you tweak? and goes straight to the data transfer screen. -Now for how each one battles. They are all pretty even, not one is better then the other. Which is why it's good to just have at least one amiibo to use. They may be better then some others because you have played with them more so they are smarter. Sadly though, they are not good at using combo skills. Those types of things would be difficult to program anyways. Combo's being like a character would chain attacks together. Such as grabbing, and down throw to follow up with an aerial attack. This makes the more tricky characters to use more difficult for the amiibo's to use. -There is a character who each amiibo's have trouble against. That is Rosalina and Luma. It's due to the fact that they don't know how to deal with Luma. Like on online matches, most people know to kill Luma if you separate the two. While the amiibo's won't. They also don't understand Luma's ranges as well for simple attacks. But after quite some time and playing they get a better grasp, but don't fully understand Luma. So you can easily kill them with a down attack in the air while they are off stage. -Now here's how some of them work. They do have a somewhat learning chip in them that will change up their moves and how they attack. But the sad part is the fact that they also cheat. How they cheat is like this. When you press the button A on the controller, your character will do a simple attack. The controller acts as an input device to the system, so when you press A, the system transfers it through the game data to do the simple attack. But with the amiibo, the system transfers it to the game and the amiibo, so when you press A, the amiibo knows it. This allows them to almost always get perfect dodges. How I can tell that they can do this. When going up against an opponent who grabs, it's better to use jab attacks, which is the rapid A attack. But whenever I do use a jab on them, it's like they are a mind reader and roll to the back of me almost instantly. And they never do this regularly unless I use a jab. They also can tell if you are going to shield against a dash attack. In this case they will grab. But I have gotten to the point where they go on a grabbing frenzy. And they are good at it. They can do backwards grabs perfect everytime even. That is when you quickly turn around and perform a grab instantly. It's not easy to do. -The amiibo's are in-tuned with sweet spot hitting as well. For instance, Marth has a good sweet spot at the end of his sword. And they can recognize how to sweet spot hit easily and how to do it every time. So they are accurate with all the punches. But they also don't get perfect hits every time but most of the time. So better work on effective dodging. -When amiibo's play against each other, they play more dumb then they do against you. It might be because they can't recognize the input device that a fellow amiibo will do. So they play blind, and act almost as dumb as the regular cpu's do, but play better then they do. All in all, the amiibo's do make a good self training partner to get the hang of different movements of characters, especially the popular to use one's. It allows you to play against someone who's better then a level 9 anytime for hours as well. But it's good to note that when you face others, they probably won't have the most effective dodging to the digits that an amiibo can. They are also pretty cool to have and collect as well. And when the prices do finally drop, we can all finally collect all of them in our list of amiibo's to own. Having a good variety will help with the most effective of training. And they can be fun to share with others. Overall, the product is really good and I highly recommend these, but at the $12.99 price.

More Than Meets The Eye
Color: Fox
Edition: Fox
Came in great quality. Didn't have any odd bends or strange marks on it like most amiibo I see in stores. And is generally awesome as a product. I'm glad I pre-ordered this since I've seen it sold out everywhere I go look for amiibo. As for its use for the Wii U? Well, I can only say I've tried it for Smash Bros Wii U, and as a learning AI it's top-notch. Not only does it learn how to better battle against me after every victory and loss, not only does it learn tricks from AIs that I can't pull off on my own, but it also shows that it's learning mid-battle. I've seen my Fox amiibo, one that I named Analyst, literally stop in his tracks and stop himself from charging into the fray once again against opponents who've done nothing but pummel the poor guy non-stop... and he'd readjust his tactics, try another method of attack, rather than get himself KO'd again and again by the same tricks (which my best custom lvl 9 CPUs can't seem to do). Analyst has since far surpassed me in skills, and I can't seem to adapt fast enough to his strategies to defeat him. Interestingly enough, my other amiibo, a Samus amiibo I named Technician, can easily beat him time and time again. The interesting thing is, the two amiibo were trained completely opposite from one another. Analyst was trained mostly against human opponents and multiple teamed CPUs. Technician was solely trained by battling CPUs in one-on-one battles. I can't beat Analyst in a fair fight, but I *can* beat Technician in a fair fight. Analyst knows how to battle against human opponents, it's what he was trained to do. If he didn't fight a human target, he fought against multiple foes at once in order to better confront an ever-changing strategy. Technician only knows how to battle against AI opponents, it's what she was trained to do. She knew how to battle any form of custom AI I threw at her in any settings, learning how to block and dodge their near-perfect strikes and set up traps ahead of time that normal CPUs couldn't easily predict. But Analyst couldn't figure out how to battle a single-minded impossibly strong AI. And Technician couldn't figure out how to fight a multiple-minded human opponent. The way these amiibo grow and learn with time in Smash Bros is not only incredible, but extremely intriguing and pleasing. They really feel like /your/ amiibo, and no one else's. You watched them grow and think on their own, so you know why they fight the way they do, why they think the way they do. But if anyone else fought them, they wouldn't know what to expect. And in the same way, you wouldn't know anything about another player's amiibo's strategies or way of battling. It really is an astonishing aspect of these little figurines. Far more fascinating than one would originally give them credit for.

Very Good-Looking and Highly Functional Amiibo For Breath of the Wild on Nintendo Switch
Color: Zelda
Edition: Japan
This Zelda Super Smash Brothers amiibo yields very useful materials for playing Breath of the Wild on the Nintendo Switch. Of primary interest to me is the Twilight Bow, akin to the Bow of Light that Link can only obtain from Zelda for the final battle with Ganon. Attack power 30, durability 100, range 8,000 meters!!! (but the light arrows do not travel at the speed of light - you can miss a moving target even though the arrows do not drop under gravity!). The Twilight Bow is great for sniping bad guys from far away! Also rarely, one can obtain star fragments and diamonds, which are difficult to come by in BOTW itself. More commonly, one can obtain Royal Bows and lesser weapons and as you progress in the game, the weapons dropped will come with perk upgrades like increased attack power or durability, as for finds in the game itself. The Twilight Bow is obtained on roughly 1 in 50 uses of the amiibo (after you have liberated at least one Divine Beast) but if you're persistent with Game Save and Reload, you can try your luck as many times a day as you want as long as you discard all the previous drops you don't want. Since I got a Twilight Bow from Zelda on my fifth try, I'm very happy with my luck and the amiibo! One or two points about the product delivered - although an Amazon label was pasted over the UPC code identifying the product as "Japan import," it was clearly produced for the European market as there seemd to be 7 or 8 European languages on the Nintendo packaging-no Japanese, AFAIK. The coloration of the amiibo is not quite as light and radiant as depicted in the marketing images on the Amazon web page, either, unless you put it under very intense light. But still, it's a beautiful and memorable figurine that drops lots of rare and useful stuff when playing BOTW on the Switch. You can get the same functionality much cheaper with NFC cards or discs, also available on Amazon, but I wanted a beautiful memento, expensive though it may be, for all the fun I'm having with BOTW. It would be nice, too, if the figurine were a bit larger and Zelda's face were a bit fuller to correspond to her BOTW appearance but then for an amiibo from the Super Smash Brothers game, one can't complain too much about resemblance to Zelda in BOTW, who's also a blonde, unlike the brunette SSB figurine.
