Description

Experience one of VViViD's most popular wraps! VViViD Gloss Black is designed to perform for DIY'ers and Pros alike, all while maintaining professional grade manufacturing standards. Our wraps are easy to use, safe for your paint, and continually improved every batch. Don't Forget This Step Posting heat to automotive vinyl, also known as post-heating or heat-setting, is a crucial step in the vinyl wrap installation process. It involves applying heat to the vinyl wrap after it has been adhered to a surface using a heat gun or a heat source specifically designed for this purpose. The self healing coating will protect your film from swirls, light abrasions and scratches. Simply heat out most damage you see with a heat gun. Like most vinyl manufacturers we use Solvent Based Acrylic Adhesive for our wraps. Air-release is great for installation by releasing air through adhesive channels. We are continually using the best UV absorbers and light stabilizers in our films ensuring a finish that will not fade, crack or fail. It does not stop with just wrapping the exterior of your car! Give your interior that much needed facelift it deserves with VViViD Gloss Black. Note that all exterior wraps are also suitable for interior use as well. How to know what size of vinyl do I need for my project? Measure the longest points of your project, keeping in mind VViViD vinyl is always 5ft wide. Use a sizing chart for reference, buy a little more extra vinyl for errors, and use seams for large surfaces if needed. Can my vinyl wrap survive the winter? Yes! Your vinyl wrap can survive winter with proper care. Use a ceramic coating like FUSE for protection, wash regularly with a vinyl-safe soap, avoid scrapers, and don’t use hot water or high-pressure washers. Park in a garage when possible. What tools do I need to wrap my car? You'll need a heat gun to stretch and set the vinyl, a knife for precise cuts, a squeegee to smooth out air bubbles, buffers for the squeegee edges to prevent scratches, and a tucking tool for clean edges and tight spaces. Why VViViD vinyl wraps are better than paint? At VViViD Vinyl, our wraps are more affordable than paint, fully reversible, and protect your car’s original finish. Unlike paint, wraps resist chips, UV damage, and scratches. Plus, they install faster and offer endless design possibilities! Does this vinyl wrap require a heat gun for installation? Yes, you will need a heat gun as the vinyl's adhesive is heat activated. Heat softens the vinyl which makes it more pliable and stretchable, making it a lot either install. Post heating also contributes to the long term durability of the vinyl wrap. • Great
Size: 1ft x 5ft
Went on beautiful. 2 days in the sun shrinks and cracks. Edit: It was the outer film I forgot to remove. Peeled it off and it looks great.

  • Good Chrome delete option for BMW!
Size: 1/2ft x 5ft
Great Budget Chrome Delete Option – First Time Using Vinyl and It Turned Out Awesome I used this vinyl wrap to black out the chrome side marker pieces on my son’s 2014 BMW 528i (F10), and I’m really impressed with how it turned out—especially considering this was my first time ever working with vinyl. I’ll be honest, there’s a bit of a learning curve at first. The first side marker took me two tries to get it right, but once I got the feel for it, the second one went on perfectly the first time. There’s plenty of extra material included, which made it easy to redo without stress. I removed the side markers using a trim removal tool, and they came out easily with no issues. Before applying the wrap, I wiped everything down with isopropyl alcohol to make sure the surface was clean. I used a cheap X-Acto knife and a basic heat gun from Harbor Freight, and that was all I needed to get a clean, tight finish—even around the tricky curves and corners. **One thing I ran into: there was a clear film layer on top of the vinyl that made it harder to work with and seemed to scratch easily. I ended up removing that layer, and it made the install much easier and the final result looked significantly better. Not sure if that’s the “intended” method, but it worked great for me. This is why I have it 4 stars and not 5. If that layer is meant to be left on it peels like a clear coat would on paint. I can even see it in some of the other photos that people posted. ** Total time was under 45 minutes, even with it being my first time and dealing with the learning curve. Best part—this has held up extremely well. It’s been about 4 months now through winter weather, multiple car washes, and even a full paint correction where I used a dual action polisher over them. No peeling, no issues. If you’re doing a chrome delete, this is a great, affordable option that makes a big difference. Check out my other reviews to see everything I used to complete the full chrome delete look. ... show more

  • Flat surfaces only! Poor contour Adhesion!!
Size: 10ft x 5ft
Pro- easy to use and Black is deep and glossy Con- because it's easy to use for repositioning, you lose the aggressive tack needed on contours. This vinyl would contour but then begin to bubble back up in the contoured areas. Once it's in the sun it will bubble up even more in those areas. you can press them back down most of the time, pin prick the air out for some but all end up returning within minutes because the tack just does not hold. Conclusion - I was wrapping fender flares for my suburban. I have been cutting vinyl for over 10 years and have tried many brands but this was reviewed as the best black gloss so I tried it. For my project it was a WASTE of time and money. I applied it to the driver side flares only and now may remove and strip them so I can have them painted instead. If that's the case then I do have half the vinyl still unused. I may use it on my hood because its flat or just attempt a return. I have honestly never seen vinyl lose its hold like that, especially within a minute of being applied and pressed. Even tried some heat and aggressive pressure but nothing helped. So if its flat and basic, go for it! Otherwise buy a premium brand!!! ... show more

  • bad packaging, had to use soapy water when applying.
Size: 15ft x 5ft
After the prep work to the roof of my truck I went to lay down the vinyl strip in my cooled garage. It stuck to the surface immediately to the point we’re I had to physically rip up the vinyl to reposition(rid of air bubbles)because it was so stuck. I read the directions and had my heat gun ready. States loosely “ …apply pressure and heat for it to adhere to the surface.” Literally none of that was needed… it felt like it was super glued to my truck without heat/pressure. I noticed even the vinyl when folded inward to each other (not intentional) was really sticky too. After 6 hours wasted on the roof alone and one redo (bought the 15foot strip) I gave up. I felt like the vinyl was pretty thick and hard to stretch as well. Not as malleable as other vinyl I’ve seen. Also it was shipped in a box not big enough where the end was sticking out and had scraps on it that I’m sure occurred during shipping. Edit: Someone gave me the advice to use soapy water under the vinyl when applying. That actually worked so much better. Changed my review. ... show more
