This wood textured vinyl worked wonderfully for an old desk I was restoring. It takes patience and care to remove all bubbles as it is applied. I recommend to not unroll more than a few inches at a time, smooth it out then proceed further. Use a hair dryer around the edges. If any areas won't stay down just reheat with hair dryer. This stuff is awesome! I installed it on a couple of the center console areas on my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee High Altitude, and it came out perfect. The dark ebony woodgrain well matches the existing trim on my jeep. Installation takes patience and a plan in advance, but it wasn’t difficult per se. Gentle stretching and use of a heat gun to follow the contours as needed. You need to work a small section at a time and get it perfect before you continue with the rest of the piece. More complex and curved pieces definitely make it trickier, and I think the pieces that I covered were near the limit of what was doable. Still it turned out really really good. In the attached photos, the two lower pieces on the center console are vinyl wrapped, while the upper pieces on the dash and door are the stock pieces. I bought the stuff because it’s gorgeous and it was very expensive. I have a nice size roll if anybody wants to buy it. I’ve had several problems with it. First of all even after using a commercial surface cleaner specifically for vinyl and properly propping the surface, and using adhesion promoter this stuff does not stretch very well, it seems very thin, it absolutely does not have micro bubble release it will just tear, and when heated doesn’t give nearly as much as many other vinyl products even from the same company. I guess if you have a completely flat panel like a board made out of metal or glass that’s completely flat give it a try. I tried one – trim piece and ended up ruining four pieces trying to get it to adhere and corner without creasing wrinkling or detaching. I’m really surprised because this company puts out some top-notch material I don’t know why the stuff is such a pain in the butt. I took it to the local car vinyl wrap shop and they played around with it a little bit and told me that they would give it a try but there would be no warranty and that they would get paid for trying whether it succeeded or not because I was requesting my own material used instead of theirs. This is new enough I might recommend you wait until they can develop this a little better it looks great but darn is it hard to deal with.

I’m a DIYer with a mid level skill set. My install, a Tesla Model Y was mostly straightforward. Lots of straight lines and just a handful of pieces but it was challenging. It took me 2 rounds of wrapping due to my errors. That haiku, “perfect is the enemy of good enough” was written for me. The good: - Flexible and very easy to work with - Has a premium finish and appears to have depth when installed - Thin enough to get in between the tight spaces The bad: - It’s PRICEY - The thickness is a factor when wrapping sharp items - Does not come in small rolls Tip: - If you can get your hands on heat gun, use it. Heat makes a world of difference in the playability when installing. Don’t have a heat gun, a blow dryer will work too. - If you are a DIYer, spend a few bucks and buy a wrap install kit. Under $10 but totally worth it. Super helpful for tight spaces and pushing air bubbles out - Cut less, tuck more. If it possible tuck the wrap in rather than trying to get a perfect cut with a razor blade.

Okay so I was very nervous about this project, because I know from doing large format signage that once your vinyl is down it’s stuck and you’re stuck with it, you only get once chance to make it look good. I was also nervous about the direction of the faux wood grain because of the reviews, but mine was going the correct way. I wrapped a 96” x 42”(I think) table and it did have a few tiny bubbles(probably because I did it near a hot sunny window?, but they released by the next day, I had to take a thin safety pen to pop a few bigger bubbles—I recommend barely doing it and on the textured faux wood part so it doesn’t show. All in all the table looks AMAZING and brand new! I’m so happy with the project! Also I ordered shelf support brackets to protect my corners, it gave it a nice industrial finishing touch while protecting it. If you can and have straight edge table corners, I recommend doing that as well if you plan to use the vinyl for a table so kids don’t pick at it!
