Great large button phone. The programable speed dial buttons are perfect for seniors or persons that have difficulties remembering numbers or how to use a phone (such as stroke victims). You can custom the auto-dial buttons with labels or pictures. (size your pictures to .76 inches high by .83 inches wide). The optional voicemail does not have to be used. If you do not use it, the phone simply hangs up if the call goes unanswered. The ringer has an adjustable volume button, as does the handset volume. We are currently using this in an assisted living environment, and it has made communication so easy for all involved. It was a great transition from a smartphone designed for seniors. ... show more

This Vtech SN1127 model landline phone is easy to set up and program. The eight speed dial keys are very easy to set up---just make sure you have the phone numbers you want to enter in front of you. The amplified volume of speakerphone and the ring volume is more than sufficient--it's really loud at highest setting! However the call volume on the handset isn't sufficiently loud even when set on high. You have to touch the "booster" button if you want to make it reasonably loud. The call quality rating is probably 3/5 on the handset and 4/5 on speakerphone. All in all a decent phone, but not perfect. ... show more

Bought this phone for my elderly mother in law based on the site saying that it had a loud adjustable volume on it and it does. Works perfect, easy to use and best of all my mother in law can hear the other person on the line.

I bought this for my parents as they were moving into independent living thinking it would make their lives easier. The volume for the ringer would not adjust so it was blaring loud. The light bar did not light up when I called to test it. It was connected to a supplied internet phone system in their new place so I tried to add a dsl filter to see if that was the problem but it made no difference...features were just clunky. Unfortunately, by the time my parents got moved, settled and hooked this up...we were just past the return window and Amazon/V-Tech would not accept a return or refund so I will just junk it. Bought this for my elderly mother who uses Ooma. Seems like a great phone for the elderly. It's missing caller ID but you can use another phone or device if you want that. I like the volume (loud ringer and handset volume), flashing red indicator light while ringing, one-button calling with the speed dial (don't even have to pick up the handset because it will use the speakerphone). It seems like it was well thought out. And yes, there is a ringer volume control but you only get high, low, and off. High is really loud. I will update this review if anything changes. ... show more
