I was impressed with how easy it was to our together especially with how tight of a lock the vertical pieces had. The hanging pegs have a circular cascading effect and I was surprised that I nailed the pattern on the first try because I was really paying attention to how the vertical pieces line up - it’s just that easy to put together. In my pictures you can see that the pole looks pretty much seamless thanks to the similar wood grain on the pieces. The legs have a clear rubber cap on the top of each foot, adding protection for your floor and grip for the stand. I removed one star because this coat stand does not feel very sturdy. If you just push in it a little it feels like it wouldn’t take much to knock it over, which might be a problem if little kids are around. For this, I made sure I put heavier items lower on the stand and placed in an area where it won’t be easily knocked over from foot traffic. ... show more

It may sound a little weird… but I’ve become a coat tree fanatic over the last year, I just love the small footprint of a tree that can hold multiple heavy clothing items in a small vertical footprint. This one really impressed me even more than the other four I’ve acquired so far since it was extremely easy to put together in minutes, and the little shelf is a HUGE convenience! My husband tends to run into the bedroom, strip off his clothes, and instead of throwing them onto the floor he’s finally learned to hang everything up onto a coat tree. I replaced his old one with this nifty one, and right away he piled everything from his pockets and belt onto the little shelf. Pocket knife, seed packets, zip-ties, a ball of cotton string that he uses to tie up sagging plants, garden shears, and the dog collar controller. Everything fit on the shelf while he hung up his hat, t-shirt, and pants up on the pegs like a real pro. It took me MONTHS to very gently train him to hang his clothes up on a coat tree (instead of slinging them on the floor), yet he instinctively understood what the little shelf is good for without additional training or subtle lectures out of me. BRAVO! This special coat tree with the little shelf is extremely sturdy, it looks very nice (when not covered with muddy homestead clothing), it is affordable for an item that will be used many times a day throughout all seasons, and if I could give ten stars then I would. I liked that the pieces of the product were packaged well, so they came in pristine, and each piece had a little sticker with a letter on it— but then there were no instructions in my box. Yikes! So I brought up the product page to see how it was supposed to look, and after that it was easy. The legs with plastic protectors on their tips screw into the little “table”, then you put on the short cylindrical piece with the one bolt provided, then c-b-a screw into each other on up to the top, then you just put the little pegs in the holes in b and c. Easy peasy! I’m using mine as a robe and towel stand by my freestanding tub. I did have two hooks on the wall, and I love how this has simplified and sleekened the look of my multiple robes, microfiber hair turbans, and towels.
