The PS VR2 rubber face pad that came with the unit works OK, but rubber against my face tends to get sweaty and feels a bit slimy after a short while. After a half hour of play, my face gets wet around the face pad. Also, the rubber baffles over the nose make my nose itch. I have to move these around continually during gameplay and scratch my nose. So annoying and immersion breaking. The new VR face pad is a significant upgrade and a must have for a PS VR2 user. It fits my face perfectly. The padding is perfectly firm and comfortable and evenly distributes pressure around my face and is balanced the pressure on my forehead as usual. The VR unit is now more secure and does not shift around during gameplay. My eyes stay in the sweet spot during gameplay. This face pad breathes. It blocks out all light. The PS VR2 now feels more premium like the Quest 3 does. With the old face pad, I could play 45 minutes at most because of how hot my face became. I played for two hours with the new face pad. Works well it’s more comfortable than stock. You can hold it in the correct position without it being too tight so it’s a lot better to wear. Underrated product if you ask me. My only gripe is the bottom part lets a bit too much light in but you can ignore it- at least while racing in gt7. Good product if you have a psvr2 you should get this in my opinion. ... show more

    • Does not block out light
The padding feels a lot better on the face than the stock VR shroud but for the VR to fit properly on the head, this new mask lets too much light in from the bottom. I would not recommend buying this product. Better off sticking with the stock mask.

I play Gran Turismo 7 in VR. I compete in online events that last up to an hour. Sweating is a bad problem for me. I've tried using a fan but I still sweat because the poorly designed flimsy rubber gasket traps in heat. Believe it or not the Sony PSVR2 has a built in fan. I have lost races because sweat eventually blurs the lenses. This is a game changer. I've seen negative reviews about the installation but it's SIMPLE. Just remove the rubber gasket and snap this one in place matching the side male to female prongs. Not only is this vented, which allows heat to escape, it's also a firm fit which prevents the headset from sliding down like the flimsy rubber gasket does once it starts getting sweaty. I can actually feel the fan inside the VR circulating now. I just don't understand how Sony didn't design this before the release. At the price point and it's effectiveness a person would be silly to NOT buy this ... show more

    • Light bleed at nose, does not work with lens protectors
Install was easy and intuitive. However the light bleed at the nose area is large and by design this light shield can’t be clipped on if you’re using lens protectors. Search continues for a better light shield, if one even exists

    • Significant Upgrade
As others have mentioned, this does let in light from the bottom of your headset. However, the comfort of this as a replacement to the stock interface is night and day. Enjoying my headset much more with this solution, and the light bleed does not bother me.
