  • Awesome scope, worth more than the price.
Size: 6-24x50 AO Style: Dead-Hold BDC Pattern Name: Riflescope
I personally received the wrong item in the box. Not sure what happened there, but the scope I got definitely wasn't the correct one. Returned it and received a refund. Amazon is really great with their return policy. The reason I'm still leaving a review is that I ended up buying this exact scope elsewhere, for a super bargain price. Great design, lifetime no questions asked warranty, Perfect reticle, nice thin crosshairs, parallax adjustment works great, at lowest and highest magnification, the entire FOV is extremely clear, and the lenses provide a perfect view. The large sun shade is very effective. Very easy to zero, and together with my home built custom AR: Shilen match grade .223 wylde 20" 1:8 barrel, Mega nickel boron upper and lower receiver set, JP clamp on adjustable gas block, Aero Precision Mlok handguard installed with Seekins barrel nut (Aero handguard is only designed to work with special proprietary Aero upper receivers, but I researched the mounting screw holes and used a seekins barrel nut), and of course a Vortex Crossfire II 6-24x50, I'm able to shoot .3 MOA at 100yds with hand loaded 77gr SMK's from a bench rest. The rifle would probably cost $4000 if it were a factory gun. Sorry, I can't help but brag about my Custom AR work, and what the gun is capable of. I planned on using a much more expensive optic, and use this one temporarily until the budget would allow something a little more fitting for the gun. But I'm so please with this scope, that I'm going to leave it on there. This optic is worth much more than it's price, and it's impossible to be disappointed by it. Buy it. You won't regret it. Unless you get the wrong one! The one I received didn't even seem to be a Vortex. It looked like it may have been previously returned, or something weird like that. Whatever, it happens. • Excellent scope for the money Excellent scope for the money
Size: 6-24x50 AO Style: Dead-Hold BDC Pattern Name: Riflescope
Read mixed reviews, mostly positive and decided to try this scope. After setting up scope eye relief at max zoom everything was clear at any distance. I read others stating max zoom was not clear, this is why eye relief is important to setup at max first. Optic quality is very clear and on par with many more expensive optics, it would seem newer technology in optics makes quality more mainstream and cost effective. This scope has a long eye relief which is much better then my last Vortex Diamondback with 3", the scope would hang over too far past bolt. Current photo is using Vortex low rings on a Ruger American GoWild camo 6.5 creedmore, perfect fit. Shooting accuracy at 100yds is sub-moa, 200 and 300 no BDC used and it's just as accurate compared to 100yds, perfect combination for this rifle. ... show more

  • A great scope, Vortex Optics are just the ticket to see your target at greater range.
Size: 6-24x50 AO Style: Dead-Hold BDC Pattern Name: Riflescope
Vortex Optics are the best in my mind for the money. Quality construction and great field of vision to use on the range or when hunting. Adjustable crosshairs allow you to get the scope on target easily.

  • Very good scope, amazing customer service
Size: 6-24x50 AO Style: Dead-Hold BDC Pattern Name: Riflescope
The scope overall is a very good value. Very good optics, easy adjustments and accurate. However, I want to thank vortex customer service. I finally sighted the gun in about a year after I bought it. When I got in the stand I noticed one of the turret caps had fallen off (I must not have tightened it very well). I emailed customer service to determine how to get a replacement (I couldn't find a web site that sold the exact part number for this model on my phone in the stand). I received a reply the next day (on a Sunday), that they would ship it out a replacement set. I received an email with an invoice indicating they were shipping both turret caps at no cost (under warranty)! Although they knew the issue was my fault, they still took care of it. Future scopes will be Vortex! ... show more

  • Sweet scope for the money
Size: 6-24x50 AO Style: Dead-Hold BDC Pattern Name: Riflescope
Honestly I purchased this just to have a cheap scope to throw on a new build. Having said that, I have yet to upgrade it. Now it's not going to be a top of the line comparable scope. The price should tell you that. But it has way more power than I ever need, but I got tired of only having the old 3x9. I end up using it as a scope and binoculars because it has so much power. The glass is decent. Not the clearest obviously being in this price range, but hey it's a lifetime warranty. I've actually dropped my entire gun, with scope attached, off an old shooting bench that broke a leg. Landed scope first on hard packed dirt. Picked it up, dusted it off, and everything was fine. Held zero and didn't even get a scratch. Pretty impressed by this little guy. By little I mean price, it physically is pretty big with the sunshade on. ... show more

  • Mostly likely the best budget scope you can buy
Size: 6-24x50 AO Style: Dead-Hold BDC Pattern Name: Riflescope
Vortex is widely considered the best of the budget scopes for a reason. The box is well padded and packed, the glass is clear and bright (at lower magnifications, more on that in a bit), and it even came with instructions specific to the model of scope AND it's reticle including ranging charts for several calibers (mine is the Dead-Hold BDC reticle). Sight-in took less than ten rounds at fifty yards, the turrets are well marked and adjust cleanly and predictably, the zoom and focus controls adjust with a reasonable amount of effort, and the sight picture is extremely clean without the reticle blocking the target. I had three minor issues with this scope. 1. The elevation turret markings did not line up completely with the indicator, but that was easily fixed by re-zeroing the turrets. 2. The front lens had one tiny speck on it, but it does not affect the sight picture at all. 3. At maximum magnification the sight picture is slightly blurry in full sunlight. This it to be expected on budget scopes and the blurriness is far from unusable. Overall this is an excellent scope for the money and the warranty is top-notch. ... show more

  • Simply a great scope! (If you know what your doing)
Size: 6-24x50 AO Style: Dead-Hold BDC Pattern Name: Riflescope
I shoot 3 hundred yards pretty easily with this scope..... it sits on an AR. At 18 power it maxed out the range that I shoot at.... haven’t tried 24 power yet, but I also haven’t had the need/or distance for it yet. At 18 power, and at 300 yards, I can see my intended target darn well to the point that I can see my impact points! Once you have your eye relief, objective, and focus set, you should have a great looking sight picture, then it’s just about turret adjustment for POI. There’s a sweet spot for every scope, you just gotta find it. For $300 it’s a scope that’s hard to beat as far as price to performance goes! I own a viper 6-24-50 PST and that scope also is pretty ridiculous.... so for me it’s VORTEX all the way!!!! ... show more

  • Impressive so far... Impressive so far...
Size: 6-24x50 AO Style: Dead-Hold BDC Pattern Name: Riflescope
I mounted this on my Ruger American (5.56) using a Leupold one piece base. The base is slightly taller than I'd prefer so making an adequate cheek weld was difficult. I am attributing any inaccuracy to that and will update when I procure a correct height mount. The build quality of this scope is very solid, and every detail looks well thought out and finished. The vision clarity is excellent, and the adjustability allows that clarity to remain at different magnification. Most of the 80 or so rounds I've fired were for zeroing and then verifying at 100 yards. As I stated before, even with the adjustable parallax my groups were loose due to the lack of cheek weld. I was, however, able to ring a 4" plate at an unofficial 200 yards with my last 5 shots of the day. I am very excited to see the improvement when I get it mounted correctly. Even as the light was fading and I had moved under some trees the brightness was good enough to clearly see the reticle against the dingy grey of the lead-covered plate. There was almost no white paint left from the coating applied at the beginning of the session. I purchased this as an upgrade to my Nikon Buckmasters II 3-9x40. One thing I prefer on the Nikon is the ability to reset the adjustment knobs to zero by pulling up on the turret and turning it, no tools needed. On the Vortex a tool is required to loosen a screw (I used a quarter) and re-tighten after setting the indicator to zero. After a proper zeroing this shouldn't be a common occurrence but until then it seems tedious. I'll chalk it up to being a more solid method mechanically and not let it detract from the otherwise great opinion of this scope. Ethan Pressmann Valued Engraving Update 3/4/21 - I've been doing a bit more shooting lately and I'm still very happy with this scope. ... show more
