Description

The Fiskars Hand Seed Sower offers four seed-planting essentials in one convenient tool. Made of durable yet lightweight FiberComp, this 4-in-1 seed trowel is ideal for small seed handling, digging and measuring hole depth, as well as seed spacing. A removable stylus in the trowel's handle can be used for controlled counting and handling of small seeds, directing seeds down the trowel's head for precise placement. The stylus can also be used to make divots during seed placement and includes easy-to-read, debossed measurements along the full length of the tool for correct seed depth and spacing. Additionally, the widger's narrow shape makes it optimal for transplanting smaller seedlings.

    • Exactly what I was looking for !!
Style: Hori Knife
I forgot I ordered this and picked one up from a big box store for $12. When this arrived it was a no brainer to return the other one and keep this one. I immediately ran out and dug up a few weeds. Its nice and sharp and slid right into my hard ground, just like you want a knife to do in your kitchen. The other one was thicker, less sharp and did not slide into the ground as easy. I also used the knife portion to cut off part of my sweet potato vine that is in my planter. That stuff grows so well even in the brutal Texas heat, that it tries to take over the pot. I was glad I would just cut off what I dont want. Have some dusty miller that has done the same thing. I cut portons of it off when it takes over. I dont like dragging scissors or box knives out to the flower box, seems I get busy and lay it down, and when I need my house scissors or knife, I dont know where it is. Of course thats my brain issue, but I love having a dedicated tool. The sheath is such a nice extra bonus !! If you want to call it a bonus, its really more of a necessity. With this sheath on I can tuck it under my arm or clip it onto my jeans and move about doing the other things I need to, and not lose it. The other one from the big box store just had a think plastic sheath that is not really a sheath as much as it was part of the packaging. ... show more

    • Makes repotting a pleasurable experience
Style: Trowel
I used to use a dining spoon to scoop the soil and all that when I repot. I always make a mess and hated the idea of repotting soon after. This, is a heavenly tool to me because it saved both my sanity and my plants' life. Material is a quality hard plastic, not those cheap ones. The side design makes whatever you scoop goes straight to where you point at without leaking things everywhere. Love it! Would 100% recommend for indoor small/medium plants! ... show more

    • High Quality and Lifetime Warranty
Style: Hori Knife
It's all the features I wanted in a hori hori, plus an extra one I didn't know I wanted; the forked tip is handy for prying sturdy roots loose, and is durable enough that I'm not concerned it will weaken the tip. I was looking at similarly priced traditional ones, but they all had reviews stating that the blade would break in half at the handle when used for digging. Sturdy traditional hori hori can cost over $100, so I decided I'd give this Fiskars version a try since I've always been happy with their other lawncare tools and utility scissors. The stainless steel blade is permanently moulded into the plastic handle, and by using a magnet it seems that the tang extends just past 3/4 of the way down (stops at the orange part). The included sheath holds the tool securely and the clip is wide enough to grab onto large utility belts. It's quite stiff, so you'll need to wear it on a spot that's out of the way of your legs when walking. There are drainage holes at the bottom, so it's quite easy to hose clean (though I ways wipe the blade clean on my pant leg before sheathing). I've never had any Fiskars plastic become brittle or crack, even when carelessly left outside for years, so I expect this sheath will be no different. I've so far used it for digging planting holes, aerating the soil around a root base, digging up weeds, cutting dried up flower stalks, and removing sod that had encroached into a planter bed. It performed to my expectations in all tasks. I'm very happy with the build quality and don't anticipate it will sustain damage anytime soon, but if it ever does Fiskars has a very generous warranty. It's a bit goofy looking, and not everyone likes the orange/black Fiskars colors (though I appreciate the high contrast / visibility when I absent-mindedly set it down on the green or brown ground) but this is most likely the best value hori horinyou can buy. ... show more

    • Just go ahead and buy it!
Style: Harvest Basket
I was skeptical at paying the price for ultimately a fancy crate. But, it's proven to be more than worth it. It easily cleans up and it's nice the slots keep the small produce/tools inside. The locking handle is the underrated improvement and has its handy moments as well.

    • Better than it's original version
Style: Hori Knife
Long thin and a good practical (cut slice) knife-saw digger for gardening...just don't whack anything too hard with it coz its still not that steel type like its predecessor...so...it will break and snap easy as a "chopper".

    • Perfect size for harvesting a big amount of veggies
Style: Harvest Basket
My daughter has tons of veggies this year and is able to harvest quite a bit at one time. Sheโ€™s able to rinse them off with the outside hose. She loves it!!

    • Works well but block sizes and shapes are not optimal
Style: Soil Block Maker
It seems to be well made and it is easy to use. But, if you make the single large block it is really too big for most plants. The block is tall and cone shaped which is not very efficient in terms of soil use or space. If you use the insert, you get 4 small blocks, but they are almost too small, and again the shape is not very efficient. If you just want to try soil blocking it is low cost tool and works OK for a small number of blocks. If you think are going to do a lot of soil blocking seed starting, I would suggest the more standard square blocks. In my experience a 1.5 or 2 inch version is good for general garden use. ... show more

    • Very useful
Style: Hori Knife
I wish I would have known about this tool sooner. I use it all the time now. Itโ€™s great for removing invasive weeds by the roots.
