  • Easy to fly, Durable, and flat out fun!
I have always had an interest in airplanes, but thought that flying an RC plane was diffucult, expencive, and scary. With the Volantex P-51 Mustang it is so simple and easy to get the plane in the sky and control it easily. The plane has a gyrostabilizer that will keep the plane level in flight and will allow you to fly in slightly windy conditions. The controls are easy to understand and very responsive. I had never flown an RC plane before (had years of video game experiance) and I was able to fly without a problem on the first flight. Even though the plane is easy to fly, I have crashed it a few times into buildings and trees and there is very little sign of damage, the only thing you will see is some scuffed paint. The compact styrofoam that it is made from allows crash landings and proprellers to come off, and you are back in the sky in minutes. There is no set up and no building of your own, just put 4 batteries in the controller, charge the batteries for the plane, and off you go right out of the box Some thing to note: on some phone chargers that I have tried, the "charging" light flashes red and takes forever to charge the battery, but in other chargers, the light will stay a solid red and charge the battery in around 45 minutes. Something that confused me at first. All in all, a great plane, easy flyer, and well worth the money to start an amazing hobby ... show more

  • Great plane for a beginner
For the price, this is a fantasticly fun plane. In the stable level, you could fly with one hand. It's feather lite and you might think a light breeze would be an issue but it handles amazingly well in the wind. On a calm day, battery life is fantastic. I've crashed more than once with little to no damage, short of a few broken propelers that are easy to replace (buy a few extra...) I'm fairly new to the plane game and loving these small foam planes. In expert mode, you can fly upside down or in my case, crash into the ground, but it keeps on flying. This is actually my 3rd similar plane. #1 is on it's last leg and has taken a beating, missing some foam and the gear box is a little noisy, but it still fly's. 5 stars because it does what it says and it's just fun! ... show more

  • DON"T BUY THIS PLANE
This plane is junk. It is not worth the money at all. We flew it one night, and the plane broke. My son was excited to get it, and he landed the plane on the driveway and broke. Now the plane goes in circles on the ground and wont't fly. That is a lot of money to spend for 1 night. It doesn't come with lots of extra pieces. to try to make the repair. When the plane worked it was super fun. It went up pretty high and was much better than playing electronics. I guess the plane now goes into the trash. ... show more

  • Very fun plane
The media could not be loaded. The plane is very fun to fly. The battery lasted about 15min on a full charge. In the video the wind speed it around 5 mph. It was a little difficult to control in the wind but not impossible. When it got hit with a gust i just dropped the throttle and let the plane glide down until I was able to get control again. It crashed a few times into the ground and also into a chain link fence. No damage except the front propeller broke but that doesn't matter because only the 2 side props are important. I would recommend this plane for ages 12 and up. Overall it was a lot of fun to fly. ... show more

  • Incredible Flying Experience
This little plane is absolutely incredible. I am a private pilot in real life, and this is my first and only RC plane. I have been flying it for 6 months now and it is still going strong. I have crashed it at least 20 times, including once at full speed into a light pole and several times straight into the ground. I am finally able to fly it on expert mode in calm air, and when things get hairy I quickly switch it to beginner mode and the plane rights itself instantly. The technology and durability in this little plane is unbelievably good for this price. it still brings me joy to fly it, best purchase I've made for myself in a long time, and at 48, maybe the first toy I've bought for myself in decades. Don't even bother with the landing gear - land it in grass or fly it to yourself and catch it out of the air. I have had to do a few minor repairs to the foam, which is very easy with a basic two part epoxy. When the sad day finally comes that I crash it one too many times, I'll be buying a new one. ... show more

  • Not a beginner plane.
Purchased as a gift for my husband. He took simulator coarse and joined a club. The first thing they said was this plane is to small and to fast for a beginner. The club gave him a trainer plane and after 3 months of flying it, he still isn’t ready for the speed of this plane. Disappointed that this was advertised as a “Beginner” plane. Glad the club could help, made the whole experience much more enjoyable and he will continue to improve his skills so that someday he can fly this plane. ... show more

  • Works well, good performance, with some quirks.
Great looks, durable, will fly out of the box (on beginner mode). A little fast for beginners (if not defective, I've heard of a few) and it's radio is just ok (but works well). Aerobatics with the pre-programmed buttons work as advertised, the handling is not stable in expert mode, but no matter, there's still a lot of fun to be had for around a hundred bucks. Beginners take note: use at least a soccer field. Experienced flyer: laugh yourself silly with an attractive, zippy warbird. I own several (most are made by the same manufacturer, despite brand). You'll want a few more batteries. It does repair easily, so enjoy. ... show more

  • Awesome supplier and great products
This thing is amazing. Got a little damaged in the shipping but the company was on top of sending me a new one. I was able to glue to 1st broken plane together and that thing took off like when my gfs parents came home when I was in high school. Flew well and was easy to control. It kept flying for prolly an Additional 3 hrs. But since I didn’t read the directions. It disappeared within 1/2 a minute. The second one came and I’m super hesitant to send it back. I will on principle but I’m hoping since I wrote this awesome company and awesome review. I’ll hope they’ll let me keep it for free. I’m ok if not I’ll pay for this plane again. PS. These things are way better than drones around other people. People don’t trust drones. But airplanes? Ain’t no camera on that. ... show more
