My 13 year old son and I have never flown an RC plane before this one. Within 15 minutes we were flying this plane easily. Awesome plane to learn on. I would recommend flying without the wheels on, and over a nice grass field. I feel like in a week or two of daily flying, you could master landing on cement, using the landing wheels BTW, we flew it in 8 mph winds, with gust up to 16 mph; and this little thing handled it. Amazing plane all around. Just bought a second one, so my son and I Can fly together.

After following all directions and set up the plane took off and never came back. Nothing worked to turn it back towards us. The remote kept beeping saying it was too far away but everything we tried did not work. We Sept over $100 to watch it take off into the sky and never return. Almost like the remote we had was not connected to the plane. The worst was watching the look on my kids face as he realised it was never coming back.

This is a fantastic step up from the smaller biplanes and other beginner airplanes that are fun to learn on, but tend to porpoise or fly slowly with nose up. I got the F4U and am still blown away by how easy it was to transition from a backyard flyer, to what may be the smallest - but still amazingly stable - park flyer. I just moved from the beginner to intermediate toggle switch setting, which as far as I can tell, varies the amount of auto gyro-stabilizer. Moving to the middle position produced way tighter turns, and ability to roll out of a loop on top or bottom, but is more shaky, requiring more attention. The best part about this airplane, by far and away, is that it continues to survive crash after crash - pop the prop back on, and go again, no harm done. I bought an extra pack of 2-blade props, and another of 3-blade props, which make it even easier to fly. I've broken one 3-blade prop from a straight down smash, and lost the original 2-blade prop when it when into a lake - yes, an upside down water landing. I put a new prop on, and it flew right away - no problems. You need a huge tree-less yard, or a park, soccer field, football field, etc... for your first flights. I've been flying in smaller yards with more trees now, but it's much more fun in a big field. I've already got my eyes on the ME109 for the next one - the F4 needs a friend.

Fun and fairly easy plane to use. my 9 year old loves it. probably a good idea to buy extra propellers as they break fairly easy as you are learning to fly, not a big deal tho.

Very detailed considering it is foam. Comes with a controller, spare parts, and all functional flight surfaces except for flaps. The ailerons are in the wrong position. A bang for the buck product. You won't regret buying one.
