paired easy and worked great for a while but it’ll just not work for a while then function again randomly, so i’m not sure what the issue was. Not expensive, but would prefer it to work consistently so I might have to get a new one. It has all the right buttons but i just can’t use them sometimes even when troubleshooting (removing and reinstalling batteries, re-pairing) and making sure the way is clear. Followed instructions and after attempting both methods I was unsuccessful in connecting this replacement to my shield. I'm sending it back. Besides the fact that listing photos indicated it was the familiar triangular shape of the OEM part and it doesn't have any back lighting, I'm going to bite the bullet and spend the extra $10 to get exactly what I want. I ordered a cover at the same time for a shield controller and because this one isn't the same shape the new cover doesn't fit. Set up was impossible. Controller takes AAA batteries. It fits in your hand well but looks and feels pretty cheap. It just wasn't what I was hoping for so another day of using my phone app to control my TV and the OEM controller will be here tomorrow. ... show more

These replacement remotes last about 2 months. Then the buttons get almost impossible to make work. The tactile button pushes such a thinly copper coated switch, it wears out in no time. My TV is about 3 or 4 years old, and I have worn out 6 of these remotes. They break very easily. Like everything else, cheap to buy, and need replacement in just a few months.
