We have had a set for years and was trying to find a match. This new stool, pictured on the left, has the large base for stability and has a nice padded seat. It is a little larger than our old seats, giving you less support. I like the looks of the foot rests but if you are bear footed the squared edges are not as comfortable as the rounded tube footrest on our old stools.

I did not like the fact that the bottom was stapled cardboard and the leather did not go all the way around the seat just on the top and sides. The chair was much too expensive not to be fully covered in the protective cover

I suppose I bought these before really paying enough attention to the dimensions/measurements of each particular part of the chair; if they were listed. I imagined getting a stool with a back, based on the picture. it seems, however, that the new trend in charts/stools is to have a uselessly low back on them. This stool is sturdy and comfortable under the butt. the back is useless. I wanted to sit at my counter with my coffee and feel like I was sitting in a supportive chair, inclusive of being able to lean back on the backrest, or rest my arm on an armrest. this thing doesnt make it halfway up my back and I am a very short woman. I am so disappointed. I will be looking for another stool that I can actually relax in.
