This isn’t my first aftermarket battery for one of my Roombas. However, this is the only one that has a worse battery life than the 7 year old one. It literally runs for 10 min before shutting off and needing to charge. My unfortunate experience is compounded by not using it for a few weeks and then it took me a few more to realize it wasn’t running very long as I tend to turn it on when I leave the house. This is NOT a good aftermarket battery and I will absolutely avoid this brand and seller in the future.

Vacuum

After four years of good results, my 960’s battery life has been steadily declining for six months, to the point that it spent more time recharging than vacuuming and hadn’t succeeded in finishing the full area in a couple of months. Most often it would die in the middle of the room before it could make it back to the base for a recharge. I installed this new battery in the iRobot easily (a screwdriver is included), and I let it charge on the base for three days before I put it back on its regular schedule. It now vacuums continuously for 75 minutes, which was typical of the original battery, and it is able to make back to base before dying (which means the 960’s internal estimate of remaining power from this battery is accurate). I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this will last as long as the original, but if I can even get two and a half years out of it I will have saved money over buying authentic parts.

I bought this to replace the battery in my 8-year old 900-series Roomba. Prior to this, I had about a 2:1 cleaning to charging ratio - maybe clean a little over 2 hours and charge a little over 4 hours in a job. This new battery is far worse - for example 8.5 hours of charging for 1.5 hour of cleaning. I’ll be putting my old battery back in.
