I bought this monitor because I didn’t want something that needed to be connected to wifi; nor did I want it to be connected to an app. I like this camera because the camera quality and the image quality is fantastic. It’s very clear and crisp. I also liked that I was able to move the camera from the monitor. What I didn’t like was that I couldn’t hear my child. Even with the volume up, you cannot hear a thing. My husband is very loud when he talks and it couldn’t even register his voice. It has an option to alert that noise is being made, but it’s very loud and obnoxious. It also will beep at any little sound. If the microphone was stronger and I was able to hear to child, I would’ve kept it. ... show more

There is no need to install any application while using the camera. I take the monitor everywhere because there is no Wifi or smart phone connection. When I use the lullaby feature, I cannot use other applications with sound.Good to know the range and temperature. A continuously recording device starts overwriting again when the SD cards are full. ... show more

    • Pros and cons
There are some definite good features of this camera. It’s very portable and rechargeable, it includes an SD card and the vision and sound on it are great. This could be a pro or con to you but it doesn’t require an app and there’s no Wi-Fi or smart phone integration. This means you have to have the monitor by you wherever you go. The lullaby feature is nice, however that means that the sound alerts are pretty much useless. The range is great, I’ve never had an issue and while I don’t expect temperature changes, it’s nice to know the temperature and I have alerts for everything I need like sound and motion. So far it allows me to keep an eye on her and alleviates a lot of my concerns. It’s a continuous recording and when the SD cards fills, it will start overwriting so there’s quite a bit a video that you could always go back and review. Overall, I really like it. This model of baby monitor is fantastic for simplicity sake. The handheld monitor has a wonderful picture, and can be seen at night pretty well. The cameras do the job. The connection is very simple and can be done by just about anyone.

If you need a monitor that doesn't have to be plugged in, look elsewhere. The battery life on this isn't the best. We turn it off most of the time, so it's fine for periodic use, but the battery does run low. Otherwise, we're really happy with this. As a foster family we go through lots of baby monitors, and this one was easy to set up and use, has good picture and sound, and the standard useless features (temperature, music, etc.). ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I really like that I can take this with me wherever I go. It doesn’t have to be plugged in to work, it can operate on a charge. I think having a camera that isn’t connected to my phone via an app is ideal as my phone battery life isn’t reliable, as well as my service. With this camera I don’t have to worry about being in a good service area, I can watch the large 5 inch screen with zero interruptions. The picture quality is great, very clear and crisp. The sound quality is also good (again much better sound than I can get from my phone!) The lullabies are a nice addition-perfect for nap time. Once the camera is set in place you will be able to see nearly the entire room. It can pan nearly 360°, 355 to be exact. It also can tilt 90° for a better view as well as 6 times zoom. The night vision allows you to easily monitor throughout the night. Although this is perfect for monitoring a baby, it could be used for a variety of reasons such as for pets or for elderly in the home. It can be used to communicate as it has two way communication. The media could not be loaded. This baby monitor came with everything you need to set it up right out of the box. This monitor and camera combo even came with two USB wall plugs to charge both parts of the device with - the camera and the display monitor. We all know you can't have too many of those USB charger bases, so that was a big plus. The little cat shaped camera is adorable. I know that's no big thing as far as functionality but I simply love how cute it is. It will look right at home in a nursery. The entire system is easy to use that has a simple user interface. The motion and sound detection on this is pretty sensitive which is great. We loved all the extras on this, especially the music.
