  • Big growing space for little cost
Size: 55 Gallon Style: 1-Pack
I am an experienced raised-bed organic gardener, usually growing in North American Cedar beds. I needed a "temporary solution" for a temporary garden and added a few vivosun 15 and 20 gallon bags. They have stood the test of time, some are going into their 4th season and show no evidence of expiring soon. This year, I decided I could invest in soil, but still am in a garden spot I expect to change so decided to add one 55 gallon bag and, after seeing how sturdy it was, I took a risk on the 129 gallon one. I am pleased with both. One reviewer was critical of the sections not being sewn to the floor of the bag. I have thought about whether it would be better to be permanently affixed or not and decided, while awkward to fill, I prefer them not being separate squares. The open design allows roots to go to their own places, and it makes it a little easier to adjust the shape of the bottom. That said, it is not easy to fill one of these big things! I did the 55 gallon one alone, but enlisted the assistance of my spouse to help me get the 129 gallon one laid out and partly filled. The trick is to fill the base with enough soil that the sides stand up but not so much that the interior partitions are stabilized. At that point, you can slide the bag around and get it positioned exactly where/how you want it. Then, add the soil to the individual compartments. I use a mix of organic raised bed soil, compost and various soil amendments. I filled the sections to about half full with raised bed soil and then layered soil, compost, azomite, and fertilizer. Being an organic gardener, I am concerned about the materials the bags are made from, and from what I can read, grow-bags in general are not pristine. The non-woven ones like this one seem better, but I cannot find good information about leaching and/or microplastics. However, the costs of these bags are extremely good and the vegetables I am growing are not taking long shipping journeys nor are they sprayed with toxic chemicals so I count that as a win. Not perfect, but affordable and functional. ... show more

  • Great Quality
Size: 20 Gallon Style: 3-Pack
These are great quality. I’ve had other grow bags and they’ve only lasted a season. I expect I’ll have these bags for quite a few growing seasons.

  • Great Deal - Just do the Math
Size: 129 Gallon Style: 1-Pack
You're essentially getting eight 16-gallon grow bags for $26, so that's $3.25 each. You can't beat that. The only "cons" to consider are: this takes a lot of soil to fill and is somewhat unwieldy to do so. Enlist the help of a friend. Another reviewer utilized carboard to hold compartments open. That's a great idea. ... show more

  • Perfect size for my tomatoes and herbs garden!
Size: 55 Gallon Style: 1-Pack
Perfect size for my tomatoes and herbs garden! It’s a little difficult to fill with soil if working alone. So I used pieces of cardboard boxes on the bottom and sides of all the compartments to keep the sides up, and therefore, make it easier to shovel the soil into each compartment (make sure to remove any tape or plastic labels from the cardboard as plastics are not biodegradable). The cardboard helps retain moisture in the bag and it will eventually disintegrate. ... show more

  • Nice
Size: 20 Gallon Style: 3-Pack
The bags seem nice and relatively sturdy but the handle on one bag tore already.
