Update: very good customer service added back two stars since the light itself is great. Pros: The light itself is very nice. Sturdy, doesn't get too hot and the plants love it. Cons: The hanger device they give you is absolute crap. Do I use it? Yes, for now. But I was forced to buy another kind simply because the jackasses at Vivosun decided to supply my light with perhaps the WORST designed hanger. I suspect it’s to force people to buy new taller tents or their “premium” line of ratchet rope hangers. The problem with these hangers is that its impossible to get the maximum distance for your light from your plant in a smaller tent. The steel cables that attach the light to the carabiner are spaced at 1ft. and the ends of them instead of having hoops are just soldered bulbs (and what’s even worse, THERE IS NO WAY TO REMOVE THEM). Normally the steel cables are looped on each end. Whoever redesigned these is a total unscrupulous villain and sucks major eggs. 0/10. In my tent there is easily 1-2ft of wasted space because of this shady, underhanded, corner cutting design. The only reason they did this is to up-sell you crap you don't need and to prevent you from using what you have already. Every other steel cable like these has a looped end (ON BOTH FREAKING ENDS!) so you can cross the cables through said loops to create more tension and thus raising your light higher. By doing this I can easily get another ft. of space for my light ... which would make ALL the difference. These people knew what they were doing when they designed these things to screw over their customers. Secondly the height adjuster for the main cable is poorly designed too. The excess slack just flops around with no easy way to get it out of the way. I have already ordered a replacement for the hanging system. I got mine here on Amazon by Bayyee steel hangers for 5.99 a pair. Seriously not happy having to spend more money on top of spending $80s on a light just so I can get it to work properly without burning my plants. Do yourself a favor when buying this light, replace that absolutely worthless steel cable hanger that comes with the light. Or if you have paracord laying around, just use that and save some money. Again 0/10 and screw that brain dead designer from Vivosun.

Love Vivosun's price for quality. Couldnt ask for much more other than a better hanging kit. Set up my light for the first time and right off the bat noticed the hanger hangs your light about a foot and a half from the top of my grow tent. No way to raise it any higher. Worse yet when nedding to raise the light for the first time to avoid damaging my plant the hanger system literally explded in to pieces. Lucky I was there when it hapened to catch the light. Could have Been a way uglier picture. Reached out to Vivosun which had sent me a new hanger free of charge no questions asked (great customer service). But this still did not address the loss of more than a foot in raising the light. So ended up using standard grow tent hangers being my plant was within 6 inches of the light. Had no choice. Other than that great product. UPDATE! Purchased a 4x4 Vivosun tent which allows me to use the original hanging system.

Using this light on a saltwater aquarium to grow chateo. It was slow growing at first. Added more flow to my chateo and this light made the growth take off. Chateo went from a tennis ball size to bigger than a basketball in less than 2 weeks. Its a little loud with the fans on and transfers a bit of heat to the tank but worth the small price vs a kessil or AI refuge light.

I have hundreds of hours on this light at least. It has worked perfect from day one and grows plants great. I use 4x of these in a 5'x5' tent and keep the lights about a foot above the plants. The light is still working like new all this time later. I would definitely buy again and recommend to friends. I would love to get a bigger one of these some day.

I contacted seller with some questions and they responded very fast. This company carries many products. I have been using MarsHydro leds for years, My 3W-300 is bright but when I bought the Mars 5w-300W led it blew the 3W light away! So when I bought this Vivosun 5W-300W and plugged it in next to the MarsHydro 5W-300W it absolutely blew the Mars away !!! The Vivosun has a larger heat sink, larger and more extensive air flow. Larger foot print. Much ,much brighter light!! If this light holds up I wont be going back to MarsHydro ! I have around 9 years of experience growing indoors and everyone knows more light equals bigger Buds! Im going to buy another one payday , I like this light so much. Oh yea the Mars doesn't have UV, or IR, So this makes this light a fill spectrum light ! Try them you wont be disappointed!

The media could not be loaded. Ordered this light to use for seed starting this spring and then I plan on repurposing it to light my DIY aeroponic system. First impression was that the light was heavy duty and very well constructed. I was impressed the the case itself was not flimsy sheet metal. Light output was more than adequate and the fan while noticeable was not overly loud and seemed to move plenty of air to keep the components running cool. I have been running this light on a 17hr schedule and have not notice any over heating issues.

This is an excellent product! Only thing is if you put in one of the smaller tents with the hardware they provide your missing out on a good foot of grow room. For a tent thats three feet tall it is worry some. Just made our own to shorten that gap. Other than that this product is wonderful

Really good light for the money. I had bought with the intention of using for seedlings/clones but I ended up adding it to my flower tent to add to the color spectrum. That was one of the best things I could have done. It doubled the density of my flowers, they really seem to like it a lot.
