This pump moves some water. It is quiet and easy on the electric bill. Lost a star in that the mounting system for it is poor. It rotates way to easy in and pops out of the bracket with the slighest of pressure. Means I have to figure out how to get the bracket out of the pond because it stays at the bottom every time I try to remove the pump for cleaning. That isn't fun!!! ... show more

Seems like in every pump's review there are stories of it not lasting. I'm not sure if 2.5 years is a long, short or average time. I'll probably buy another one just so I don't have to do new research ;-) It worked well and was easy to clean leaves off the intake. I was expecting a much larger and heavier unit, just based on the appearance of the pump. It runs quietly and does the job, but I wish I had gotten a much bigger pump. My fountain only has about 5 ft lift so I thought this would be sufficient, and it does work for my fountain, but it does not shoot out the water with much force like my old pump did (forgot the flow rate on that one). ... show more

I don't write a lot of reviews, but when a company exceeds expectations I feel I should. I purchased the 2700 GPH pump. Project specifications- We are using the pump for a 4' tall waterfall feature. The run of the pond hose is about 11', this comes out to about 6-7' of total head pressure. I am using a brand new flexible pond hose 1" inner diameter. We are using a waterfall weir with a 12" spillway. I am into ponds and aquariums and have owned and run many different pumps over the years of all sizes. I was hesitant to purchase this at this price point, but I am on a tight budget for this project and decided to give this pump a try. Pros - -The pump exceeded expectations for water output at this price point, it's pushing about 1200-1300 gallons at the spillway (top of the water feature). This gives us exactly the effect we hoped for, a vigorous small mountain stream look and sound. We didn't want it to be too loud nor just a small trickle or splash sound. -The pump is very quiet, we don't hear it at all. -The build is solid and heavy. The plastic parts are not cheap or flimsy, the impeller is hefty. Con- - The only con so far is the pump did NOT come with the 1" - 1 1/4" out flow piece. It came with the 3/4" and mystery size below the second thread....I'm guessing 1 1/2" outer diameter. So my newly purchased size 1" inner diameter flexible pond hose is too big for the top section and too small for the lower portion of the out flow piece. This is why I knocked off one star. I am currently using a hose clamp, which clamps the hose down to the 3/4" size but had designed my feature for 1" hose and the inlet on the waterfall box (weir) is 1" inner diameter. Not a huge problem but it does throttle the flow a little. I did order this pump to fit the design and components of my project as advertised. UPDATE on outflow adapter. I'm a bit flummoxed. On the one hand the seller, at their expense, sent an entire new pump, I asked only for the 1" adapter but they wanted to send a new pump. On the other hand the adapter with the second pump still isn't 1" inner diameter. I have measured, checked and re-checked, asked my husband to measure thinking I was misunderstanding the measurements. Nope. It's 3/4" outer diameter hose connector, and the larger portion is 1 1/2" approx. outer diameter. Pump works great though! So I guess I'll try to figure out a work around on the hose size-adapter. I have contacted the seller, they responded very promptly that they would correct this at no cost to me. Upon receipt of the proper outlet piece I will update the review and happily bump it up to 5 stars. UPDATE on outflow adapter. I'm a bit flummoxed.
